My last full charge was on October 1 @ 10:30 AM. It is now October 6 @ 8:00 AM and I have 30% left on my Ionic.
I have notifications enabled and have even used GPS for about 30 minutes during that time. I have some alarms enabled too. The only thing I have disabled is the screen turning on when I turn my wrist. I wear the Ionic 24/7 and it tracks my sleep.
I have never had this kind of battery life with my Blaze. It would seem that I can certainly go 6 to 7 days on a full charge under my normal usage.
Did I just get a good device, or is this normal performance?! I have friends that have an Apple Watch and are lucky to get a day or two out of it.

So far my experience with battery life has been positive, although I haven't really been able to test it properly. Next time I fully recharge it I will take note of the time etc and see how long I can get.

42% battery left, ~ 3.5 days (screen wake on).

Screen wake on, notifications on, regular use of Fitbit Pay, Starbucks and Weather apps and music controls, plenty of watch use during setup, installed developer firmware over Bluetooth since Wifi wasn't available, 2+ hours of GPS, one hour of non-GPS exercise with heart rate tracking -- and the watch still lasted about 4 days.
Took it off the charger yesterday at 6am. As of now, still have 82% left. Back of the envelope calculation suggests the battery should last about 6 days.

I agree with other comments here, battery life is quite robust; after 24 hours of usage including a slow 4-mile GPS tracked group run and a fast(er) 6.5 mile GPS tracked trail run, my Ionic still had 75% of its charge remaining. 🙂

I think it depends on the quality of the GPS signal a lot. I left mine on at the end of an activity yesterday when I went into an office with no easy GPS signal. It was on 60% to start- 3 hours later (when I realised I'd forgotten to stop the activity) with GPS running the watch was on 12%. I'm going to try (at some point) leaving it running in a location where it has good GPS as I want to get an idea of how long it would last. The 12% went within 10 minutes of an activity in a good signal area.
Non-activity battery times seem great - but this is an activity tracker so GPS usage is a key factor. I've seen other watches that degrade the quality of the GPS signal as the battery reaches a threshold- I wonder if this is true here (will see if I can test).

@Pd1972, I'm not surprised over three hours of GPS burned your battery down quickly; that said, it does look like it went down faster than I would have expected.

I bought and fully charged my Ionic 10/2 around 8pm and I have been to the gym 2 times this week and used the exercise function both times. I have not used any GPS as of yet. This morning when I woke up I was at 26% and decided since the screen seemed dim I would charge it today. Charged at 9am and by 10am it was reading 84% so should be about another 30 minutes to full charge. So I am happy with the time I am getting on the battery.
Another thing I guess to note is I have the fitbit app set to sync all day. Might turn it off this go around to see if there is any difference in battery performance.

That is pretty good. I received mine early Tues. 10/3 afternoon. I set up and charged it fully. Changed the watch face a few times, notifications are not on, use the countdown timer for 75 seconds every morning while planking, just got back from a 1hr. Bike ride with GPS and was notified battery was low (19%). Oh, and I have the wrist turn on.

Slightly better than my Blaze now at 5 days and 24% battery.. Now on it's 1st Charge since installation.
24/7 use, plenty of Pay, about 10 mins of GPS, notifications and alarms

I don't really think the battery life is all that impressive. If your primarily use the Iconic is to use it like a watch well you will probably get 5 days out of it.
On the other hand if you use your Iconic to track runs, hikes or walks you will get substantially less.
I have had my Iconic drain more than 60% in one day after about a 4 hour hike and more than a 30% drain during a 2 hour run. Based on those numbers I don't feel it's all that great.
Don't get me wrong as long as I get a day out of it I am ok, but I don't feel it's any where near 5 days for those of us who actually do any real or even moderate amount of outdoor activity tracking.
Also it takes me about an hour of charging each day to fully recharge.

Exactly 2 hours to go from 24% to 97% charge using an AC Adapter.. Definitely a late night charge for me..The Blaze I could do over breakfast or lunch... on the same adapter....

I think (at least in my opinion) the battery is as good as it is because it simply isnt doing anything. When apps are available and running in background and you start utilizing it for more than an expensive pedometer, then battery cannot be as good. For example, apple watch- since it has so much going on, it drains. But start turning things off and you will extend the battery. Right now ionic is bare bones- time will tell.

The Ionic battery life without GPS usage really is incredible. I did a test to see how long my Ionic's battery would last. Starting with 100% charge, it still had 14% charge after 5.6 days. Could have easily gone over 6 days on a full charge. Charging time appears to be longer than my Blaze was. Took 1.5 hours to go from 14% to 100% but that is ok trade off for such incredible battery life.

The more I think about it the more I think the battery life is really not very good.
Sure if you just use the Ionic like a regular pedometer it’s probably not too bad, but once you start using the features of the Ionic that are the key selling points of the Ionic the battery life drops off the side of a cliff.
Most days my Ionic is down to around 50% after one day some days close to only 30%. I am glad I at least get a full day although I don’t find those numbers all that impressive.
Probably my biggest beef is the much longer charge times. I have long been used to charging my Fitbits everyday while I shower and that used to be enough with the Flex, Charge HR and the Blaze, but now I need to keep charging at least an hour to get the Ionic fully charged.

@Martinefski, I couldn't disagree more; given all of the features and how long the Ionic runs on a charge, even with extensive GPS usage, I think the lifespan per charge is second to none in the industry.

So you think getting a day maybe day and a half is exceptional?
I use use the gps and listen to music 3 to 4 hours a day most days and the charge drops consistently into the 50 % range. If you use you Iconic less I am sure you will get better usage times, but my comment stands as long as you don’t use the key features it’s probably pretty good, but once you do its not very impressive at all.
Saying the Ionic has great battery life is akin to saying my 63 split window Corvette gets great gas mileage, because I only need to refuel it a couple times a year. You just need to forget the fact I put less than 300 miles a year on it....

I typically GPS track a 95 minute run per day and I can get three full days plus; I call that exceptional battery life.

The battery life is indeed outstanding. It is also important to note that the battery charges very fast !
Happy fitbiting!
