Hello folks - Is there a trick to installing a paid watch face if I'm an iOS user? I dig Alexander Zs (azya) watch faces and am happy to pay for them, but since my Mac and iPhone are not support devices, I can't complete a transaction to purchase and, frankly, am not clear how I'd get the watch face onto my watch. Is his watch faces app an actual stand-alone Android app that requires an Android phone/tablet to install to the Ionic?
Thanks for any tips...if there are any to be had.

I have the Android app, it's required as you select which face you want and then click the select button, this will then open the fitbit app with the selected watchface ready to upload to the Ionic. Of course, all the Android app is really doing is directing you to the GAM link (Private link) for that particular face. So unless you can get the developer to provide you with that link, the only way to access those faces are via the Android app.

I could be wrong here but my understanding is that the ionic runs fitbit's own operating system which will mean its not compatible with Android encoded content from the Google Play Store. Or are you saying they have fitbit specific watch faces on the Google Play store?
The only way I can see is through the fitbit app on your phone. I'm expecting that the selection there will grow with time as more are added to that library.

You're talking about the classical digital watch face, correct? Unfortunately, you can only unlock the full features as a paid Android app. The only reason I can think of why it's not offered on the App Store is because azya is does not take part in Apple's Developer Program, but that's only a conjecture. None of his watch faces are available in the App Store.

The developer shipped a single face in the app and sells an additional set of faces via the Google Play store that are designed for the Ionic. Unfortunately, it requires an Android device that also runs the Fibit app, which I do not have.

Super helpful, thanks. The developer is responsive. We will see if he's open to "selling" me the GAM links instead of the app.

Has anybody been able to successfully contact the developper to get the watch faces GAM link for a payment? I am in the same boat, loved to get the watchfaces but I am not using Android.
I emailed him about 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything since!
Thanks!

@SunsetRunner Just to confirm, are you using the correct email address to contact the developer. The one provided in the Google play store is this.

@N8teGee Thanks for checking ; it is indeed the email at which I tried to reach Alexander. I emailed him twice from two different email providers in case my emails were falling in his spam folder and haven't heard from him. I also checked my own just to be sure his replies were not finding their way into them but all's clean 🙂
