Hi, is there a way to sync interval training to strava? I have set my GPS on as I do it for sprint training.

@evillama right, so the bug is still there. I wouldn't count it's going to be fixed any time soon. So short answer is, you won't be able to sync it with Strava, even by manual upload of activity.

Understood. Guess my friends that are looking to buy new fitness devices are going to have to look elsewhere since Strava tracking is important to them. Fitbit's loss.

Thanks for your help though!

Not so @t.parker

Most companies use the Fitbits API to sync data. These companies are considered to own the link.

Their are 2 companies, Strava and IFTTT, where Fitbit owns the link and Fitbit accesses their API. These two sites are IFTTT and Strava

Gps recorded walks, runs, bike rides do get sent to Strava.

@Rich_Laue I don't think you know how it works. Syncing with Strava can be done even by you. Strava API is open:

https://developers.strava.com/docs/reference/

Other companies use exactly this API and provide data for any kind of activity, regardless of whether it uses GPS or not. That's why I can sync my watch with Strava. Strava on my side shows no integrations with any other service. Integration is enabled from my Garmin and Suunto (and Polar, because I use Polar bike computer) and those services simply send the activity using Strava API to my Strava account. Strava on its side sees no integrations enabled (doesn't have to). It's simple and it works. If other companies got it working why do you think Fitbit has a problem with it? This puts Fitbit way behind the competition.

I'm not saying anything about the details.

You stated that Strava uses the same API as other companies.

No when it comes to Strava, Fitbit interfaces with, therefore Fitbit uses Strava's API.

The other companies that sync with Fitbit use Fitbits API

Would be nice to get an official answer from the Fitbit development team...

@Rich_Laue no, I said companies use open Strava API. I said something opposite (are we speaking the same language?). Strava isn't syncing with Fitbit. It's Fitbit syncing with Strava. Same as Garmin, Polar, and Sunnto, yet only Fitbit isn't able to sync all the activities. I don't know how much more clear it may get. I have never had issues with other devices and Strava sync (maybe except that it is totally automated and sometimes I had to delete activities from Strava because some of them I didn't want to be synced). You are missing the point and trying to prove that red is blue. Simply:

- Can I sync Interval Workout (GPS) to Strava using Fitbit? No

- Can I sync non-GPS activities to Strava using Fitbit? No

- Can I do all the above using Garmin devices? Yes

- Can I do all the above using Polar devices? Yes

- Can I do all the above using Suunto devices? Yes

- If I am a Strava athlete, should I get Fitbit? No

The bottom line is:

a) There is a bug in the Dashboard with regard to Interval Workout and GPS (the pink bar states there is an issue)

b) There is no possibility of syncing to Strava anything else than the bike, run or walk from Fitbit.

Hence, Fitbit has lots to catch up to be any use for the Strava community (which logs even Crossfit workouts or virtual Zwift rides into Strava).

I'm having issues with manually uploading TCX Interval files to Strava, but when I first joined Strava a few weeks ago I uploaded some intervals I'd previously done with no issues. Exported the TCX no problem, uploaded to Strava no problem, GPS map worked no problem.

Now I cannot. The only variable that has changed since then is I swapped from a Charge 2 to a Charge 3. So why is a newer model throwing up issues that the old one did not?

@Blondie1536 if your having uploading to Strava you may want to ask Strava or get on their community board.

Sorry @Rich_Laue I should have been clearer. Interval workouts are not syncing automatically to Strava, but the issue with the TCX is on Fitbit's end, not Strava's. Every interval workout I've tried to export since switching to a Charge 3 throws up this error message:

My Charge 3 has also been tracking my Interval workout (normal) and then creating a 'Run' workout of its own accord with all the same details as the IW (not normal).

Basically, my Fitbit seems to have a mind of its own.
