My new Ionic Bluetooth doesn't work. It can't find any Bluetooth devices and it won't sink to my Galaxy s6.

@SunsetRunner Welcome to the Fitbit family! Are you still experiencing this with the syncing connection of your Ionic?

If you are, I'd recommend the following:

  • Restart your Ionic.
  • Log out from the Fitbit App, reboot your phone, log back in to the Fitbit App.
  • Turn off Bluetooth, wait 10 seconds, turn it back on.
  • Force quit the Fitbit App.

Try to sync after doing each of the steps above. That should certainly help you out with this.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

I tried the solution, but I had no luck.  My Galaxy was able to pair with other devices.  After trying the suggested steps, I did the following:

I had the same problem, and followed the suggested steps, but my Galaxy would still not pair, although it would to other devices.  I shut down my watch using the following steps:

     - on your watch, go into settings

     - scroll to the bottom, and select "About"

     - Scroll to the bottom, and select "Shutdown"

I opened the App on my Galaxy, and then restarted the watch.  It came back up and was able to sync with the phone again.

New wrinkle in the Bluetooth h*ll that is fitbit. I have a new laptop and a new phone. Got the S9 first and had my Ionic working just fine. Yesterday I added the app to my Windows 10 laptop, finished the setup of that. Got up this morning and my watch wasn't synched.

Long story short - if the Windows app is paired the phone app won't.  Even if you've got WIFI configured ... you will have to turn off bluetooth on the laptop (or at least I had to ... even with a Bluetooth setting saying it wasn't PAIRED to the ionic at the moment ... because I killed the fitbit process) it wasn't until I turned bluetooth off on my laptop that the Ionic would work with my S9.

@SunsetRunner Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for sharing your experience on this thread regarding Bluetooth and Ionic syncing process.

Sometimes the Bluetooth connection get interrupted if there are two syncing devices nearby each other. The best thing to do is to keep only one Bluetooth device paired to Ionic when syncing. If possible, try syncing with your Windows 10 laptop while your phone is away from it. It should sync that way!

Try that out and keep me posted! Smiley Happy

I just received my new Ionic and was so excited to wear it. But, I cannot get it to pair with my droid. I have tried ALL options that I can find on the internet. Nothing is working. Any suggestions?

It is fully charged, I have added the app, removed it, force stopped it, etc., etc. over and over again. I have turned on and off the Bluetooth. Any out there have a good idea?

I've got a new iPhone 7 - the Fitbit app worked fine on the old iPhone SE but Bluetooth keeps losing my ionic.  I've tried rebooting the phone, switching bluetooth on and off, rebooting the ionic and everything else suggested in the forums.  Is there a way of fixing this permanently as it's driving me nuts!

Good luck! At least you got your ionic to get recognized on a device. I just received one from Fitbit and I could not even get it to connect with my new laptop let alone my phone. The phone I had no problems with my old Charge until the Charge fell apart.
So much for an "upgrade".They sent me a return label for mine, but I am without a tracker for about 2 weeks until they process the return. I hope you do not have that headache!!

I tried all steps listed and it doesn’t work.  I was originally able to get Bluetooth setup(after several tries), but deleted it, based on the advise given for fixing the issue with not receiving notifications.  Now, Bluetooth won’t set up, and I can’t get any notifications

Best Answer

Make sure notifications are turned on in the fitbit app and turned on in your ionic.

Hello, it's good to see you around in the forums for the first time @Becgr, and thank you for your help @SunsetRunner.

@Becgr, could you please confirm which mobile device you're using to get notifications? Is it listed here are a compatible device

If you haven't done so already, also make sure that you've followed all the steps here: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone. They have been useful to other users that were experiencing something similar.

I hope this helps, please keep me posted.

My Ionic which I preordered when they were first coming available, is no longer working.  It will not sync, it does not keep time correctly.  Its been 15 to 20 min behind and when I woke up this morning it was 2 hours behind.  I charge it on my laptop everyday when I shower and get ready in the morning.  Yesterday at about 4PM it stopped counting my steps, recording my active minutes etc.  I am assuming that the power source is going bad....can it be fixed or is it done now?

I followed all the suggestions on-line, then called customer service and tried everything again.  I was basically told its a known issue for iOS 12, so I'm returning the watch, it's not performed as advertised.
