Ionic Compatibility with Iphones

I am currently using a hauwei p10 but as it isn't one of the compatible phones the notifications continually drop all the time and even though everything is enabled on phone and on ionic so I'm getting sick of having to do this at least 20 times or more a day.

my question is if I switched to iPhone will this fix this issue since its more compatible with iPhone than android or am I wasting my time and money switching could anyone give me feedback with their experiences with notifications on iPhone and if they have the same issues of them dropping off cheers

@Daleyd Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for your question regarding the compatibility of Ionic with certain mobile device models.

Just as you mentioned, the Huawei P10 is not listed under the compatibility list of mobile devices. This means that, yes, some of the features of your watch may fail with those phone models. That may apply for notifications, of course.

If you get yourself an iPhone (must be listed) and you set up notifications with your Ionic there; notifications must be good. They should not drop, they should connect well. I've seen users enjoying the notifications feature while using iOS devices.

Another great thing about having an iOS device is that you can actually answer call from your Ionic. Cool, right?

Did you finally got an iPhone?

@Daleyd  I'm not sure your problem is related to the Android platform, just that you have an incompatible model phone.  There are lots of satisfied Android users out there.  If you are happy with the Android platform, you just might need a different, compatible Android phone.  Before you dive into iOS, keep the following in mind.  iOS is a little more stingy about calendar notifications in that you must use the iOS Calendar app or your calendar app must sync with iOS Calendar.

I am an iPhone user.  While very reliable, it is not always perfect.  Every now and then I don't get a text notification or a Calendar notification -- the phone is next to me or maybe 10-12 feet away.  But certainly not the problem of 20 times a day.

hi Santi

I have ordered an iPhone se the Huawei p10 issues with notifications not staying enabled is getting worse if I re enable it and go back out to sync the phone it asks me to enable notifications which is already enabled the only way to get out of this is turn the phone off and on and miraculously they are enabled.

I'm hoping by getting the iPhone se I wont have so much trouble I would have preferred to stay with android but most of the phones are older models.

thanks for your feedback with my issues.

@Daleyd Thanks for your reply and for providing that information. I'm glad to hear you are getting an iPhone SE soon.

I was checking the list of supported devices and the Huawei p10 is not listed there. However, the iPhone SE is listed. You should not experience any trouble with notifications while using that mobile device.

Once you get your new phone, please follow these steps to set up the notifications and start enjoying that feature.

@LZeeW Thanks for your awesome help!

hi Santi

I spoke too soon messenger and email notifications have stopped working they are all enabled and enabled in history as well. I have restarted watch and iPhone and notifications are enabled on watch and in app.

the watch had a hiccup and the notification would only come up quickly and when I went to look at it there was nothing there this did this a couple of times up until then its been working perfectly not sure about messages or phone calls yet if they are still working but everything is enabled any suggestions?

@Daleyd I hope you're doing well! Thanks for coming back to me regarding this.

Just want to make sure I got the post right... so, is it working properly now after that situation? or is it still not working?

If you happen to experience this again; I'd recommend to try these notifications troubleshooting steps and they should work properly after doing that.

Try that out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

@Daleyd Thanks again for your reply! Thanks for trying the steps on the link sent. I'm glad to hear it is working properly now.

I'm sure the workaround you have posted will help other users too.

Hopefully, this will not happen to you again. If it does, try resetting Bluetooth this time (turn it off, wait 10 seconds, turn it back on), and if it keeps happening, please let me know.
