Ionic Device Lock Code Won't Allow Alarms to Go Off After 24 Hours

I had to disable the device lock on my Ionic. On two occasions my alarm did not go off because it had been more than 24 hours and I had not put the code in. I wish this particular setting could be changed to allow the alarm to work. It’s kind of important o get to work on time!

@pamrxdoc Welcome to the Fitbit family! That is an interesting idea. The device lock functionality is for the security of your Fitbit watch, specially if you use Fitbit Pay. If you don't use Fitbit Pay, the PIN code is optional.

You know, there is an option that could work for you. On the device lock settings try the "Enable for Fitbit Pay". Then, it will ask you to input the code after the first time you make a payment after you put your watch back on your wrist. That could help, it should ask the PIN only when the wallet is requested, check this out! Please try that and let me know how is it.

If this option doesn't really work for you; I'd recommend posting your idea as a Feature Suggestion. This way, users can vote for the idea. The more votes, the better.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

Hi Santi, Hi Pam,

I've had to do the same, for a sneakier reason. Sometimes - occasionally during the day, but more often at night, while I'm asleep - my Fitbit "disconnects" from my wrist (by this I mean not that it comes off, but apparently at some time it is pushed/moved in such a way that the watch thinks it has been taken off, probably because the strap isn't super tight and a small gap develops between the watch and my wrist...) and the PIN Lock is activated. Normally this isn't an issue, since I can still read the time. However, because the alarms are disabled when the watch is in Lock mode, I don't get woken up as usual! (And this morning I missed an important engagement because of it... :^( )

I'll try the option you suggest (although I don't remember seeing it in my settings ...), but I'd strongly encourage a feature request being submitted, that the alarms remain active as long as the watch is on the wrist whether locked or not. Maybe, since I can imagine some people would still like the watch to wake them even if they have left it charging overnight, there could be an option to vibrate even if the watch is NOT on the wrist, or maybe "when on charger" or something like that? or both?

Many thanks and have a good weekend,

Michael
