Sunday my Ionic just up and died. Not too upset there, I've had it since they were first released so it's had a long productive run. My thought are what to do regarding a replacement. I like some of the new features on the Versa 2, but the lack of onboard GPS has me hesitating and considering just getting another Ionic. But then I keep hoping Fitbit will announce an Ionic 2 (it is due for a refresh). Anyone from Fitbit care to drop a hint of the likelihood anytime soon?😁 I would hate to shell out for a new Ionic just to have a new model announced a couple of months later. In the meantime, I've reactivate an old Surge while I toss this around. Anyone with their thoughts regarding which might be the better option.

Had Fitbit not sent me a replacement for my bricked Ionic I would probably be shopping around for a Garmin Forerunner 235 or 245, or maybe an older apple watch.
My Ionic has always had patchy connectivity, and Fitbits dismissive attitude to the damage their shoddy firmware update inflicted on many users is the final hint to take my dollars elsewhere.
Black Friday isnt that far off;)

Hi,
Like you, I have had a Fitbit Ionic ‘die’ on me... I replaced it with another one in June of this year and since the update I’ve had nothing but problems with it and it seems to be slowly dying!!!! I’ve been in touch with Fitbit customer service and they’re “going to get back to me” with a suggestion!!!
This is now my third Fitbit, starting off slowly with the Blaze and as I’ve said, the two Ionics.
As I’m becoming increasingly disillusioned with Fitbit I’m debating whether to bite the bullet and get an Apple Watch. The latest one looks amazing and does a lot of things that the Fitbit can’t.
There is a conspiracy theory that Apple deliberately add viruses to their updates to ‘break’ their competition!!!! 😱😱😱
