Fitbit Update: Fitbit OS2.1 has been released to 100% of users!
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.1! (Firmware Version: 27.32.10.15)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT’S NEW
Introducing quick replies. Send customized responses to text messages and messages from select messaging apps with your Fitbit watch. Note that this feature is currently only available on watches paired to an Android phone. For more information, see How do I respond to messages with my Fitbit watch?
This release includes other bug fixes and improvements.
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

@MissUrka To clarify, OS 2.1 was released to 10% of users on 5/3. This was stated in my original post.
I edited the original post to reflect the 100% push that happened today so that new users who visit this thread will see the most recent information on the initial post.
Hope this helps clear things up!

Am I wrong assuming only the people doing a factory reset are getting the updated firmware?

Thank you for your reply. I was typing fast earlier and I realized I did not read my reply before posting and stated your response clarified any confusion... so I am editing. So, no, it doesn’t really clarify the confusion on the release date. I understood the rolling update but not when your edits were made or to which parts. I have sent you a direct message regarding another matter. I hope to clear it up.

WendyB, that is still wrong, that is for FitBit OS1.2.

I received the update and accepted. Will this update also fix the issue with NOT receiving text messages?

Wrong, WendyB. You're referencing what was fixed in version 1.2. The notes for 2.1 above that state nothing in detail about what was fixed.

@0hwell, a factory reset is not needed to get the firmware update - it is gradually rolled out to all users, and you will see the notice to install the update on top of the app screen for the Ionic.

I am running version 27.32.10.20 what version did the update notification give you? I will always do a factory reset when updating for a clean install . I believe that's one reason I have very few problems

I got the update as well and proceeded with the update after removing my wifi connection and connecting back. Installation went smoothly with my phone plugged into the computer and both watch and phone nearby. Just curious which is the latest update now, I've read some people mentioning 32.10.20, is it true?
Will monitor the watch post-update and hopefully no issues and battery drain. Will try to update back here after using the watch for 4 days, at least that's what I hope it can last as long as prior to the update.

Hi Quick replies are not working, there is no option on my ionic.
I am using an android device and have updated to 32.10.15 firmware.
The app I am using is Android messages.
It's disappointing been waiting for this feature for a very long time.

The new update was fastest ever. So far "quick reply " working fine.

Just updated to 27.32.10.15.. Took 2.5 hours because my Wi-Fi is 5gHz and can only update via Wi-Fi 5gHz on the phone..and Bluetooth
It didn't falter.. Last time, the same method took just over 2 hours for OS 2.0
I will report back later when I have gone through the options, so far
email notifications are working
No SMS...
Phone calls are working and when I tap the incoming call it answers the phone

I just updated to 27.32.10.15 on my Samsung S5 but I can't reply to texts using the native messaging app 😞 Anyone else having this issue?

I have an lg g5 and show version 32.32.10.15 on my versa and cannot reply to text messages with either the stock messaging app or textra. I can go into the textra settings under "define notification actions" and can get just about any other option to show up on my watch (call, leave unread, mark unread, delete) but if I choose "quick reply" nothing shows up. Any other ideas?

Yes I see that its a available but its of no use to me since my Fitbit ionic will not sync to my phone, or my MacBook, or my tablet and the app is not available for iPad to try that. This is not because Fitbit does not support my new phone (s9) but I fully believe these trackers are just plain faulty.
Cheers Fitbit support for ignoring my requests for help on twitter. The second I have the opportunity I'll be switching to a fitness tracker of a different brand instead of wearing an expensive piece of plastic that doesn't work.
