Fitbit Update: Fitbit OS2.1 has been released to 100% of users!
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.1! (Firmware Version: 27.32.10.15)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT’S NEW
Introducing quick replies. Send customized responses to text messages and messages from select messaging apps with your Fitbit watch. Note that this feature is currently only available on watches paired to an Android phone. For more information, see How do I respond to messages with my Fitbit watch?
This release includes other bug fixes and improvements.
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Now, i get this Firmware.
What can I say? Notifications are only temporary, synchronization also stops after a few hours. The message "Synchronization is running" can be seen longer time, after Synchronisation will break.
The trend is that functional stability has deteriorated with this firmware.

@MuzDownUnder @Chriswhite75 @JeffBMI @mostau Great to see that you were able to get updated!
I can confirm that it is expected behavior for texts to be dismissed from the watch or phone's messaging center, once the notification has been checked on the other.
@d_k @Yodacoda99 @CMichelle @SandyLane @SunsetRunner @Steph999 @packbradley @packbradley @Jfo137 @TheKJ @SK0103 @thestral09 @TomDuke Thanks for taking the time to call out that you are not receiving notifications. Our team is now aware of an issue related to 'Message+' and are currently working on a fix.
I will be sure to keep you all updated as more information becomes available. In the meantime, I recommend following this dedicated thread for more information.
However, if you are not using 'Message+' but are still having notifications issues. I recommend following each of the steps detailed in this article. Let me know how it goes.
@Megg2004 @avanarden @IsraelCano Thanks for all the candid feedback. I will be sure to communicate this information to my team here. Quick replies should be compatible with Android 5+ versions, so long as the phone or app being used also utilizes quick reply functionality.
@Frodo007 Great to hear that your screen is working once again!
@Marauder2 @SunsetRunner If you are still having syncing issues, I recommend taking a look at the tips detailed in this article.

Updated few days ago. Working perfectly, really a great improvement over the last update. It also fixed the bug where the settings in the exercise were not remembered.
I find very handy to be able to answer on the fly with the 5 preset quick replies, it also adds a +1 to G+ notifications, not sure how!

thanks for the update. however, please notice that the behavior isn't limited to Messages+.
I hope the fix eventually makes the feature generic, so that really every app supporting androids quick reply feature is supported.
If not: please check your forum for other mentioned apps, like Signal - which at least 4-5 people (disclaimer: including me ) are relying onto, and include them into the tests.
kind regards
Dominik

Did you get version x.x.15 or x.x.20? I got 15 and I still see the issue of custom stats setting for exercises being reset to default every time I sync the watch to phone. Its not fixed for me.
@MattFitbit can you confirm if x.x.15 release was supposed to fix this issue?

I had this firmware update (OS 2.1) last days and my tracker "Ionic" stopped working all together and then it also just completely died and wouldn't charge!! I even rested to the factory settings and set it up again with left button+right down one combination. It is not working, overheating and the battery drains instantly.
???

Hi,
I have had my Ionic since late Jan and even if i don't use some of the functionalities, I have had no real issues. however after this last update, nothing seems to be the same. For 2 days i couldn't sync, the Ionic sometimes freezes, is slow in responding or unresponsive at all or goes completely black and once I have to completely shutdown to revive it.
not a very happy person right now 😞

My Ionic updated successfully. I have an android phone and use FB messenger for texts but do not get an option to reply on my ionic and don't even see options for replies via either my mobile device or computer. Is there a certain version of android device I must have? Also...will the weather app ever be fixed? I rely on it daily as I work outside!

"I can confirm that it is expected behavior for texts to be dismissed from the watch or phone's messaging center, once the notification has been checked on the other."
So once we see a text,it disappears? If so, this is a horrible, unwanted new feature. @MattFitbit can you confirm this? If this is true there should be a setting that we can choose to turn off/on.

I was super excited about the update for the quick replies on texts, but since the update I have not been able to receive a text or any notification to my watch over message+, I had to switch to the droid messages app on my phone in order to receive texts via my watch. Are there any plans to expand to other messaging apps (messages+) ? I tried everything to get it to work with messages+ including factory resetting and starting with a totally clean slate, before I finally gave up and switched messaging apps on my phone.

Wouldn't it the best to know when all bugs are fixed?
So we shoudn't be betatester with try&error!
Ionic is to expansive to be a betatester!
When comes the final firmware release?

To have over a 1000 Steps allocated via Driving- Check
Inaccurate GPS Measurements - Check
Heart Rate issues that don't match up with Chest Strap - Check
Sync issues that dont sync to my phone - Check.... Saves Battery
Not being distracted by text messages and notificatins- Check.
Steps allocated for drying myself off with a towel...-Double Check.
more allocateion of steps for Keyboard typing..- Check
i only wish my Gear S3 Frontier, would be able to do all that and more.. sadly it doesnt allocate steps for driving, or allocate steps for Keyboard typing.
I'm glad all this is happening, i am getting fitter every minute with all the mad stepping i'm apparently doing...

It was the best post during this entire disaster called Ionic. If we can’t fix it, we may as well try to have a sense of humor about it. Maybe it will take the sting off the $300 waste of money. $400+ if you count the 2yr protection (plan that doesn’t cover any of this) along with the flyer headphones I’ll never use.

That's not entirely accurate. The text does not disappear from the watch "once you see it." However, if you reply to a text from the watch, it does disappear from the watch. (It is still available on your device, of course, so it's not like it gets deleted completely.)
