UPDATE: Fitbit OS 2.0 has been released to 100% of users.
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.0! (Firmware Version: 27.32.4.19)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
What’s New
Fitbit Today:
Introducing Fitbit Today, an updated on-device dashboard that keeps you informed about all of your health and fitness data. Receive action-oriented and personalized content with daily and weekly health and fitness stats, historical activity, exercise summaries, and tips and tricks for using the Fitbit platform. Swipe up from the clock face to open the Fitbit Today dashboard.
Ionic users, your daily stats have moved from the Today app to Fitbit Today.
Music:
You can now add Deezer playlists to your Fitbit watch. For more information on setting up your Deezer playlists on Ionic, check out this article.
What’s Changed
Fitbit Watch Interface:
We made some updates to the way you interact with your Fitbit watch:
To learn more about these changes, open the Tips app on your watch and follow the tutorial.
Instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Another update..and now sync issues Wi-Fi issues ..ive done all the things others have tried...what a frustrating piece of garbage this ionic is...should I have to spend hours and hours sorting thru this mess.. Honestly there's no way the development team doesnt know what an unstable device this is....thanks for the hours of frustration

Restarted my ionic before downloading + installing the update, took about 30-45 minutes, then restarted it again right after. So far no problems, seems more responsive, and no sync errors yet!

My ionic decides it wants to update and has rendered itself USELESS.

Sorry to see some are having trouble... My Ionic ran the update (30 minutes) and according to the desktop app it failed. However, the device kept updating itself, running the blue progress bar/screen for another 15 minutes.
The new OS is smooth, snappy with much faster switching between apps, the today screen is nicely done and now we can stalking Fitbit asking about the O2 sensor and Spotify :-). And a faster/more reliable update process.
I hope your Ionics will update as it's worth the struggle, keep at it!

I feel like fitbit broke my fitbit. Sine the update came, I can't sync to either my computer or my phone. I have done the easy reset for both (closing and restarting), and no fix. They just can't communicate. I don't want to do a factory reset and lose my data. Please come up with a solution. I like getting points for my sleep/steps/heartrate. I don't want to lose any.

@j_edmanwrote:I just updated my ionic to Os 2.0 and I think it’s awful!!! Swiping certain ways does nothing anymore yet there’s things that are totally redundant (swiping down and holding top left button both access notifications now......why?!)
The “Today” must be accessed by swiping up and the data is all crammed together and no longer labeled blah blah blah......I see no improvemts what so ever with this Os.
I’m curious if there’s a way to go backwards to the Os prior to this update? Please say there is.
I’m disappointed that long pressing either right button is no longer an app shortcut. Previously I had top-left as a flashlight shortcut. Without even looking at the watch I could activate a :flashlight:
Why remove functionality? How is this an improvement? Can I change this behaviour?
Update:
My error 😬. Short-pressing acts as an app-shortcut. Long pressing top-right brings up notifications.

Before a firmware update I always do a factory reset on my Ionic and remove it from the app and setup as a new device. Might be a little overkill but I never seem to have any problems updating the firmware that way. As for 2.0 after playing around with it for a few minutes I like the changes.

Updated this morning in around 30 mins. However it was laggy and therefore I proceeded with a factory reset. I successfully activated Deezer but I'm not on a wifi connection now so I can't proceed to dowload the music.
On a side note when proceeding with the factory reset I saw there was the option Ionic Adidas and I was hopeful to receive the Adidas firmware but not, at Fitbit they were smarter than me

Can someone please tell me what this update is supposed to deliver?
From what I read in the opening post in this topic, it seems to be a very minor update. This while the previous update introduced a zillion connectivity issues. Not a word about those now...
I finally got my Ionic working after days of troubleshooting 3 weeks ago. I'm very hesitating to proceed with the new firmware. I lost trust in Fitbit. Are they capable in delivering decent software?
From what I read here, it's probably better not to install the new firmware. I'm worried that I will need to spend again days of troubleshooting.

So I clicked on the update. it downloaded and the install froze and now the Ionic doesn't work and isn't recognized. It there a way to reset it? Why didn't you tell us we were Guinea Pigs when you sent us the Install message?

Mine is totally useless now. I am very angry. I was trying to decide between the Apple Watch and Ionic and should have gone with Apple I guess. I’ll let my friends know.

Oh wow, yes they are. Thank you for that.
But "WHY"???? Wow, to change something that worked and cause problems???? What ever happened to the age old wise saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it"!!!!!!
The Ionic, is still broken in some areas, but not all.. they need to fix Heart Rate Accuracy now

1. What is the purpose off left button? I press left button on my ionic and it show me black screen.
2. Ionic still has not supported Unicode yet. I already told fitbit that the Unicode support is not new feature but it is very basic core function. Why we need to wait for voting Unicode support.
