I hike as often as I can. I recently hiked a trail in Colorado with my new Fitbit Ionic, expecting to be able to find a quick and easy way to download the gps data into Alltrails.com. I was wrong.
Is there anyway to link Alltrails and Fitbit? The gps tracker of Fitbit is absolutely horrible as it was randomy connecting/disconnecting throughout the hike. If this is the best Fitbit has to offer, I think this will be the last one I ever own. Garmin it is.

Hi, @MCNeb! There's a really easy way to get your gps data onto All Trails. Once you log the hike, sync your tracker and then go onto the online dashboard. Open up your exercises and select the hike you just did. At the top of the exercise map, there will be 3 dots you can click on to download the tcx file, which is your gps coordinates. Then, in All Trails, open up the trail you did and click add track, which will allow you to upload your tcx file.

Nice to see that you're digging into the Fitbit Forums @MCNeb, let me give you a warm Welcome to our Community.
Our watches have the Strava app available to use and also if you go to the Fitbit App Gallery you will find apps like JayPS. Indeed, Alltrails is not there, but you can explore the gallery to check what other apps you can find, there are always new apps. To learn more, you can check this helpful article: How do I install and manage apps on my Fitbit watch?
To continue, the Ionic GPS requires a direct path to the satellites in order to receive their radio transmissions, and there are several reasons why GPS data could be negatively affected. The accuracy depends on both your environment and the weather; the GPS signal could be affected because you're underground, near to many tall buildings, or as a result of atmospheric effects.
I recommend you to take a look at all the information here about the requirements, error messages and troubleshooting steps that could help to improve GPS accuracy.
Thanks for the feedback, Fitbit works continuously to improve the quality of our products and services, and all this information is useful to our team of developers.
Hope this information helps. Keep me posted!

You won't earn a Verified Completed badge if you upload a track (tcx files) directly to alltrails.com.
"Trails that have been added to your Completed List but not verified will have a green Completed badge. You can earn a Verified Completed badge by recording an activity using the AllTrails app or through a sync of your Garmin account on that trail. GPX files that are uploaded to alltrails.com will not qualify for a Verified Completed badge."

I have followed this step by step, but it does not give me an option to upload the track. Just edit or delete the track....Any other suggestions to make this work before I return the watch. It’s the reason that I bought it.

What if I want to go back several years and download GPS data from a hike? The Fitbit online dashboard does not make it easy at all to search by date or activity to find old data.

@Kilt there is no easy way to do it unless you sync your activities with 3rd-party software that has such a search (not sure if hikes can sync to ie. Strava). Otherwise, you just have to go through clicking "Load 10 more" in the Dashboard until you find what you're after.

I cheat, on the web dashboard at fitbit.com, I click the left arrow for "yesterday" which yields a URL like: https://www.fitbit.com/2021/01/31
I then edit the URL to look like: https://www.fitbit.com/2016/10/31 and suddenly I'm looking at the end of October of 2016.
