I’ve been a long standing customer of Fitbit for 6 years, but today I’m really disappointed as I tried my new Ionic.
at first I thought great! It tracked my run well and I was so pleased. However since this morning my heart rate has been in fat burn mode all day - this is ridiculous.
im wearing the band correctly, right location, not too tight. I’m just really surprised as my Alta HR didn’t have any issues with Hr tracking. Considering this is double the price I would have expected it to be significantly better.
Any tips/suggestions?

@DaniellaMT Welcome to the Community. I wonder if this issue is similar to what I had experienced some time ago. I was getting a HR reading from my Ionic in excess of 88 BPM even when I had taken it off and it was resting on a flat surface.
After taking it off and placing it down the HR sensor on the back should go off after several seconds but mine was continously firing.
I worked out it was to do with a previous App update I had done which must have corrupted during install and the fix for me was to uninstall the app and reinstall it.
Before uninstalling and reinstalling the app though, It may be worth giving your Ionic several reboots in succession by pressing and holding left and bottom right buttons until you see the Fitbit embelm appear.

😞 unfortunately it worked for about 30 minutes. Just had a nap and my heart rate was 100+ throughout and still is now.
Think we are going to send it back as it seems faulty
thank you for the tips 🙂

@DaniellaMT the only other thing I could suggest is doing a Factory Reset and reinstall the firmware from scratch.
Hi @SantiR if this does not work would it be possible to create a case with Customer Support to get some further assistance?

Thanks 🙂
I did the factory reset earlier - twice just to be on the safe side, but no luck. Not sure if I’ve got a faulty one, it’s just disappointing as I’ve not had issues like this in the past with Fitbit, but reading the reviews and forums it seems there are a few known issues with the Ionic.
I’m repairing my Alta HR back to my app in the meantime and sending back the Ionic as faulty.
Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it 🙂

Have the same problem. Restarted the IONIC. Tried all the wrist positions etc. Did a factory reset and my almost 2 year old IONIC still shows a heart that is almost twice the actual. Even when it not being worn it gives a reading of up to 160 bpm. Any other suggestions to get this back on track?
