Ionic HR sensor stops working constantly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My heartbeat sensor keeps stopping working, usually right in the middle of cardio when im wanting to use it the most.. very frustrating to say the least.

I've tried a reset and I've also made sure its turned on from the settings on the fitbit itself.

and also syncing it when its not working to see if that brings it to life.

it usually comes back on eventually on its own but it could be hours before than happens.

anyone else having the same problem? may have to get a garmine if this continues......

@RyanCOR A warm welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thank you for getting in touch about this.

I appreciate the troubleshooting tried prior to posting. I see where your frustration is coming from, let's work together to sort this out.

In this case, I'd like you to confirm you're following these tips to ensure your Ionic is properly worn:

  • Wear your Fitbit device on top of your wrist, and make sure the back of the device is in contact with your skin.
  • When you’re not exercising, wear your device a finger’s width above your wrist bone.
  • During exercise, wear your device a bit tighter and higher for an improved fit. The band should be snug but not constricting (a tight band restricts blood flow, potentially affecting the heart-rate signal). Many exercises such as bike riding or weight lifting cause you to bend your wrist frequently, which could interfere with the heart-rate signal if the watch is lower on your wrist.

Also you may want to check these factors that can affect your heart rate reading on your Fitbit device

Let me know how it goes.

Tried all of that and my Fitbit heart sensor is still intermittent and is now doing it more often.
I use my Fitbit for everything too so I’m very disappointed.

Fitbit ionic just plain isn’t working. I have rebooted, reset...nothing works. Please fix you update that screwed it up.   Or give all of us ionic users your newest Fitbit.  It is your problem, you caused it
