Ionic Music Functions

I'd like to somehow prompt myself by changing music. Because I've arranged the selections into folders by BPM (Beats Per Minute for the music) to provide different tempos for changing my pace by stepping to the beat of the music. One workaround I'm considering is another folder with (for example) BPM 132 and BPM 150 alternating, Then when it prompts me (with an Interval workout) it's time to change from "Rest" to "Move" or the reverse, I'd then simply forward to the next song. Possibly, I could toggle forward to the next song, then back to the previous one. However, the back button doesn't seem to function. Are others having issues with that? Most of the time for Intervals, I listen to the music for the "Rest" portion but turn it off during the "Move" part. Having been a drummer in what seems a past life, it's extremely distracting for me to attempt 150 or 160 SPM (Steps Per Minute) while listening to 120 or 132 BPM music!

Often, my wife accompanies me to the track we go to during winter months. If I'm there for a "rest day" that is slow, I often join her, walking by her side as she finishes up. In such times, I could simply allow the exercise session continue by selecting a folder of slower music. From how it works now, the only recourse I see is to stop the exercise in order to change the music, possibly starting another exercise.

Even with "regular" exercises, I might want to warm up beforehand and cool down afterwards with a slow ballad, then up the tempo during a brisk walk or whatever. Without having to contend with my cell phone or the Fitbit App on site helps me feel grateful I don't have to carry along a store full of stuff.

Normally, I'd like to be able to choose selections as I'm about to start a walk, much as I'd think other than speed-walkers would do. Maybe I'm feeling stronger than what I thought before leaving home and want to go faster; I might feel I'm not up to expectations and would rather choose a different BPM.

@ohphotom It's nice to see you on the Community. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with Ionic and music control.

I'm glad to hear that you're always exercising with your Ionic even in winter months. The back and next buttons should work in your Ionic, I would like you to restart your watch and try it again.

Regarding your ideas about BPM, you may want to post your idea in our Feature Suggestion board, those suggestions are reviewed by our team and the status will change based in Fitbit's plans.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Thank you for your response. Although it didn't resolve anything for me, it's good to know you saw it. You probably will see I accepted your suggestion and posted it there . . . and added the following.

Since the initial posting of the above, support suggested I also post another concept that came to me. Music appears on my Ionic, as I image other models do, in the order they are uploaded. At first this worked alright because I did the slowest first, etc. But when I added songs, it messed up the sequence in which they appear. It would be helpful to keep them in alphabetical order, which would allow them to appear from slowest to fastest if I label them consistently, which I had the foresight to do, not realizing it wouldn't make any difference -- yet. Even those that create folders named by artist, genre or whatever would likely appreciate it being easier to find. Even though I don't yet have many folders, it would be handier to go through them alphabetically.

Finally, initial response from support on the first issue wanted clarification on the "Back" button. It was my intent to point out what may be more properly termed the "Rewind" button that appears within the screen of the screen. All the other "icons" seem to function reasonably well: Play/Pause, Forward, Settings ("gear"), even the volume up and down. But NOT the Rewind. Two responses suggested I reboot or "Restart" my Ionic. After doing that, the rest continued to work but NOT the Rewind button.

@ohphotom Thanks for getting back.

I appreciate that you posted your idea in our Feature Suggestion board, the reason why I asked you to post it there, is because our team could categorize your idea and change the status. However, here people can't vote or comment on it to show their support.

Regarding the issue you're experiencing with the rewind button, I've shared your post with our Support team and they've mentioned you already have a case with them, please continue the communication through email, they will continue assisting you.

Rewind button was working the last time I tried it. Thank you for your response. Today I added to the original query to expand what I'm attempting. Hopefully, someone can copy and paste it into an appropriate place that garner get some votes.
