Ionic is not recording active minutes. I manually started and completed a 6.5 mile run on my Ionic today. Also walked 30 minutes. The Ionic did not record either as active minutes on the watch or app.
I tried restarting the watch. It did not resolve the problem.

@bbarrera, Great Suggestion! I wasn't just missing active minutes. It looks like the Ionic wasn't keeping track of my heart rate. That's something I never expected since every model of FitBit I've ever owned has tracked heart rate flawlessly. Without a heart rate, I assume there's no METs; therefore, no active minutes. Perhaps, the watch was too tight or too low on my wrist. Thanks for everyone's help.

@AndreP Welcome to the Fitbit family! Fitbit calculates active minutes using metabolic equivalents, which are the METs. They indicate exercise intensity. Your watch estimates your MET value in any given minute by calculating the intensity of your activity.
Is the run you are performing a continuous moderate to intense activity? Minutes are only awarded after 10 minutes of continuous moderate to intense activity. The more calories you burn the higher your total active minutes. Remember that the intensity of the exercise is the key.
Please check this helpful article for more details on this.
Also, when you manually log an activity make sure to log a high amount of calories, as the more calories the more active minutes you will get.

Thanks, @SantiR for the insight to METs, but I don't think they're the problem here. I ran continuously for 59:42 minutes at an 8:56 pace with average heart rate of 143. I added 10, 217 steps and burned 848 calories, yet the Ionic registered zero active minutes.
Today, however, I logged treadmill, workout and walking activities on my Ionic. This time all of them registered active minutes very accurately.
Tomorrow, I'm running a 10 miler. We'll see.

@AndreP Thanks for your reply and for sharing your experience. Well, I'm glad to hear that it registered active minutes this time.
How did you logged the treadmill activity? Did you tracked it via the Exercise App on your Ionic or did you manually logged it on the Fitbit app?
Also, let me know how it goes with your 10 mile run and how you are logging that activity?
Keep me posted!

@SantiR, I've been logging all activity via the Exercise App on my Ionic. I ran the 10 miler today and logged it on my Ionic through the Exercise App too. Active minutes worked this time. Not sure if this means it's working or it's working intermittently.

@AndreP for comparison, please post a screenshot of a run where active minutes were not recognized.

@AndreP Yes, the problem is because the Ionic only recorded HR for 5-6 minutes. From your chart 1 MET = 14 1.2 calories per minute. As mentioned earlier, you need 3 METs (42 3.6 cals/min) for at least 10 minutes for Fitbit to award you active minutes.

@AndreP Thanks for your reply! I'm very glad to see that you are now back in track and that a solution was found. I'm sure this will be helpful for other users as well!
Thanks @bbarrera for your accurate help on this!
@angie19729 I hope you're doing well! How are you tracking your exercise sessions? Did you noticed if heart rate was working properly while doing this? Feel free to check the wrist placements shared on the link above, that should certainly help you out.
Also, try charging it as you mentioned and try the exercise again to see if that would help. I'm interested to know your results with a full battery.
Keep me posted!

Yes, heart rate tracked fine, this is the first time this has
happened...but I have only had the Ionic since Christmas...and it’s a
replacement. I hope it works with today’s workout. It has a terrible time
syncing also, I have even removed all other Fitbits and Bluetooth devices
from my iPad and phone just to get it to sync, changing the watch face is a
hit or miss. Right now my face is blank.
