I am fine with lack of notifications, lack of syncing, but this is ridiculous, what the hell kind of update did this and when will it be fixed?

@Cal_2010 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with Ionic not showing correct time.
I believe you may be experiencing this as a result of Ionic not being currently paired to your account. Please double check if it is.
If it is not paired, please follow these set up steps. This should certainly help you out with the time.
For syncing try these troubleshooting steps and for notifications try these others. This should certainly help you out.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

I had this same exact problem. my Ionic started losing time. the first day I was 12 minutes late for work since my alarm went off 12 minutes later.
it took FIVE customer service chats and multiple factory resets to get Fitbit to agree to send me a replacement.
even after they agreed to replace it I had to wait for my bad unit to arrive in their warehouse, wait another 3 days for them to confirm it was there and now wait for them to ship the new one. all told the replacement process took almost 3 weeks.
seriously thinking of selling the new one when it gets here and switching to Apple Watch.....
Fitbit's customer service used to be SO much better.

@kopykat I hope you're doing well! Thanks for sharing the experience you have had with customer support and Ionic. I'm glad to hear that finally you got a replacement even though it took a long time.
I'd recommend keeping the new Ionic and give it a try. It should work properly and you should have a good experience with it. Please follow these replacement set up steps for you to not loose any of your previous data.
Keep me posted!
