Ionic Not Syncing and Not Turning On

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have been having no end of troubles syncing the ionic since I got it for Christmas, sometimes wont sync at all sometimes partially syncs (steps but not heart rate or 260 steps etc... doesn't show runs).  Now the last 2 days I keep having Bluetooth issues supposedly and now the last two mornings it has been dead even though fully charged the night before .... been late now as I use it as my alarm.

I had the surge for 2 years before this and loved it only got this for the waterproof and am now greatly regretting it as it does not appear to work that well ..... very disappointed.

I don't know what fitbit is doing to address any of these issues as they seem to be common ... but it is useless the way it is ....

@cottager Welcome to the Fitbit Community! That's unfortunate, thanks for reporting this. I'll try to help you out to get this sorted. What kind of mobile device (model) do you have?

First, I'd like you to perform a restart on your Ionic. This should definitely help you out with both the "dead" and the Bluetooth situations.

If you then, keep experiencing the same for Bluetooth/syncing, please try the troubleshooting steps on this helpful article. This should help you out with that.

Try that out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

I am using a Samsung 8 with the Ionic.

I have tried everything restarted, force stop, uninstall then reinstall.  Turned everything off, restarted everything,  Turned bluetooth on and off, deleted and reinstalled fitbit connect.  Pretty much everything anyone suggested I have tried.  The problems seem to be intermittent one day the battery lasts fine the next it dies in 24 hours or less.  Bluetooth works one day not the next, Syncing seems to have various amounts that it syncs depending on the day.  My last report from fitbit only had 4 days .... instead of 7.

It is getting very frustrating and am thinking of just returning and going back to my surge which I used for 2 years without issue.  Although the waterproof and comfort fit on the ionic is much better if it doesn't work it isn't much good ....

I am willing to try more but am losing patience ....

@cottager Thanks for your reply and for trying all of those troubleshooting steps to sort this out.

Regarding the battery, are you charging your battery once it completely runs out of power? When you charge it like that, how many days does it last? You can test it by waiting until you receive the "low battery" notification on your phone/email and fully charge it then to check how days it will last.

Also, please check this helpful article about how to improve the battery life of your Ionic. That should help you out.

As for GPS connection, I'd like you to take a look at this thread which is about the same topic. Check this post and try the workaround showed there. You can also check this post if you keep experiencing the same after the workaround.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

Same here. Absolutely rubbish. Wish I'd never bought won. Worked ok for 3 months now just crashes & doesn't sync.

Yes unfortunately it is a piece of crap.   I have given up using it as an actual GPS or for pacing runs as it is so inaccurate it is ridiculous I just use it as a very expensive watch and step counter definite waste of $400.  None of there updates or many "solutions" have worked.  And if you have to turn everything off to have the battery last what is the point.... I understand the garmins and that are better but I blew my budget on this one so maybe next year.
