Mine is messing up too. On my Fitbit screen I used to swipe to the right and it allowed me to wake my screen “Auto” or “manual”. So everyday I put it on auto then at night put it on manual. So it didn’t light up while I slept. Now I can’t swipe to the right anymore since this weird update which messed up more than it fixed. How do we go back. I don’t even know who to ask.

@Flyladybug you can get to that settings screen by pressing and holding the left button. On the next screen you see swipe left / right to switch between music controls and the old "quick settings" screen you are looking for

If you go to the help post page again, and click on the post 3 above yours, you will have a way to at least get your Ionic/IPhone back, without the upgrade.
*Click on "Fitbit Ionic Failed Upgrade".
*Read post by AnaCepeda.
I just replied back to her! It worked to get unfrozen- without the upgrade!
At least I can see my Ionic back to seeing my steps, etc.and my IPhone showing Blue Tooth connected to watch.
It works!! Think I will just not try the upgrade IOS 2, until we hear from a Fitbit Tech, hopefully!
Good Luck!

I had the same problem, my ionic crashed during the first attempt to install the OS2. I restarted my Ionic by holding all three buttons on it and this restarted it, back to normal. Then I went back into the fitbit app and re did it. It fully worked this time! It looks like it was the Fitbit app that had the issue. This time around, The progress bars on the app moved. It showed the download, then the install and the progress bar moved across the bottom of the fitbit app as previously had stalled at 1/3rd across. It literally just took minutes to update to OS2. Maybe they fixed something on there end! Hope it works.

I attempted update with both wireless and blue tooth on my desktop and Samsung 7s Edge, all attempts failed. Attempted all recommended "solutions"in the help section, as recently as 0900 this morning (3/21), and it still hangs and fails. Best attempt was last night...made it to "installation in progress" via blue tooth on phone, but eventually failed. All attempts ran at least 20 minutes. Note that my Ionic always recovered by holding the left button and lower right button to reset, then pressing the left button to turn it back on. I'm not going to mess with the update again until Fitbit gets it all ironed out.

I had the same problem (I attempted the update about 5 times). I finally had to completely factory reset my Fitbit ionic. When the ionic is factory reset, for whatever reason, it updates without any problems. I know it's a hassle to factory reset but it seems to fix the update problem.

I also have tried several times form my desktop to upgrade my Ionic. I acts like it is going to then after about 1/2 hour says it failed. But from reading the other comments I think I will just forget the upgrade all together.

So, more OS2 whining, but this one bugged me big time.
I work on a 3 story buidling, and before, i really enjoyed getting an accurate count of my stair steps. I watched it close the first few days, and saw that it was spot on, and trusted the counts from then (hitting the goals was fun!).
Then OS2 came along, and ruined it..
At work, the first day of the update, it said i did 17flights... but i left my floor no more than twice that day (for walking, i do laps around the building, as it is a pain to go in and out). Even more baffling, is that multiple times since, it has registered that i took at least 1 flight in my single story home (which is fairly level last time i checked).
Given that the back of the watch is already pitting and corroding, i was pretty disappointed. But now, it is sitting on the shelf, and i am back to my Gear S3...Less battery, but way more reliable.

I've tried all the troubleshooting prompts during the upgrade, I've charged both devices and tried again several times but my Ionic will not update and no longer syncs with the app. Not sure how else to proceed? Only got the watch 4 months ago.

It took my Ionic from 4:45 PM until almost 10 PM to update. 5 hours! After the update, mostly I notice the navigation has changed, the Today app is better, and none of the clock face settings will sync. So far, I'm not impressed. I'm still kicking myself I didn't buy a Garmin or a Gear S3. The one thing the Ionic outclasses its rivals at is sleep tracking. Next time, that won't be enough for my money.
