I have not worn my Ionic today since I woke up. When I came home from work I heard it vibrating on my desk. When I picked it up it says I walked 3,377 steps. Yesterday it registered 57,832 while it was on my desk. I just updated firmware today (after not being able to, seems updating is a pain) so hopefully this helps. Anyone else have this issue?

@ttiger Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with Ionic counting steps while not being worn.
By any chance, is there a fan or anything that may have been buzzing or vibrating on the same surface that Ionic was placed on? If yes, please try placing Ionic at a different surface.
If not, please check if the same thing persists after updating Ionic. If you encounter any trouble while updating Ionic; check these troubleshooting steps to sort that out.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

No fan or anything vibrating on desk. I wore it to sleep last night, register 65K+ steps from 2am to 11 am. When I click on graph it shows actual steps, not the 65K+. Kinda frustrated as this was a gift for christmas and not sure how to go about getting it fixed or replacement. My concern is if this problem can arise from a new super premium product, how can I be sure the rest of the functions and data are correct?

@ttiger Thanks for your reply and for providing those details.
Are you seeing that on the watch itself? Or are you seeing that on the Fitbit app's graph? Could you share a picture with me?
Also, please try performing a restart on Ionic. This should certainly help you out with this.
Keep me posted!

Same thing started happening with my watch 3days ago. Have tried resetting it but no success.

Mine is doing the same as well as recording heart rate. I'm not wearing it.
