Ionic Review After Two Weeks

Just thought I would post some comments after wearing the Ionic pretty much continuously for the past two weeks since I got it.  Bottom Line, I have no complaints at this point and have not experienced any of the issues others have posted about.  Set up was a breeze and no problems syncing with my iPhone 6 ever since.  I get all app notifications that I turned on from Facebook, Twitter, NY Times, etc., and no problems receiving texts and emails.  Initially I could only read the From and Subject lines of emails forwarded from my Gmail acct, but after downloading the Gmail app directly onto my phone and turning it on once it appeared up under App Notifications in Fitbit, I now receive the body of emails as well.  The display is awesome and stats are easy to view while working out.  The heart rate monitor is very accurate (compared with a strap on monitor I use for cycling), and all of the other metrics like Steps, Calories, Floors, Active Minutes, seem to be in line with what I've captured for almost two years with my previous Charge 2.  Compared to other "Smart/Fitness Watches" I think the Ionic is more stylish and less bulky.  I replaced the stock band with a black sports band that is more flexible and even better looking.  Most of my cycling has been on an indoor trainer the last couple of months (I live in the Northeast) so I haven't been able to really test the GPS function, although it connects fine when I've tried it outside.  I also use Strava and when I opened the app on the Ionic, I noticed that all of my data had synced going back to July of last year.  Others have complained about not being able to respond to phone calls and texts, but quite honestly, I could care less about that.  I bought the Ionic for fitness tracking and I really like the Fitbit app and how it captures my workout results.  I've also noticed that new apps and clock faces have been added in the short time since I got it so I'm sure many more will be added in the coming months.  Overall, I really love this watch and am glad I got it.

@Guitman Welcome to the Fitbit family! Wow, this is an excellent Ionic review! I'm so glad to read all of that! Ionic features work great, it does for me as well! Honestly, it is a great fitness watch, its the best one I've ever had.

I'm also glad to hear you got yourself a sports watch! Very stylish and useful if you wear it for exercise very often. So nice!

Another thing you mentioned that is very true is that more clock faces and apps will keep adding to Ionic every time. It is still a new device watch, so a lot of awesome things will come for it! Future is friendly for Ionic.

In fact, a new firmware update begun to roll out yesterday. This progressive roll out should be available in just a few week for all Ionic users.

This post made me happy! I hope you keep enjoying your Ionic!

See you around! Smiley Very Happy

Mine broke 12 weeks after purchase. After 4 phone calls and one on-line chat, they've agreed to replace but I must wait another two weeks for that. I doubt the product could ever go into the healthcare market. It's too undependable.
