Hi everyone!
I noticed some problems with my Ionic sleep tracking and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
I usually go to sleep around 11PM and fall asleep pretty quickly. My watch always says I slept from around 1-1:30AM which is quite impossible.
My wife has a Fitbit Charge 2 and her sleep time seems to be right on point with her actual sleep hours.
Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?

Hey there @HealthyLiving12, it's nice to see you around the forums! One thing I recommend is switching your heart rate setting to 'On' instead of 'Auto.' If the heart rate setting is set to 'On' your heart rate will always be active. Keep in mind that you need to record heart rate to calculate sleep stages. If you were to turn off heart rate, your sleep logs will go back to the classic style.
In addition, I think it's great that you update the Fitbit app to the latest version (iOS and Android). I always recommend keeping both the tracker and the Fitbit app up to date with the latest versions.
Also, please take a look at all the requirements for receiving sleeping stages in this post.
Hope this helps! Keep me in the loop.

Hi Marre,
I did all of the points you mentioned but it's still the same.
Anything else you guys can think of? It really sucks to get wrong sleep data as I really count on that.
Thank you.

@HealthyLiving12 I think my recorded sleep time also starts quite a bit after the time that I "THINK" I fall asleep, probably consistently 30 mins to 1 hour behind.
I've personally never tried this but I think you can manually tell your device to start tracking your sleep via the app on your phone. Maybe try this tonight and see if this is a good workaround for the time being?

Thank you!
Yes, same here, about 1h "behind". Seems like it starts detecting my sleep at least an hour after I am actually asleep.
Kinda weird but oh well. I guess I will stop wearing it to sleep lol, it seems when I look at it in the morning i feel more tired haha

Once or twice the time I went to bed has been off for me too.
I also noticed that unless the Ionic is pretty tight to my wrist it is not able to detect the hearth rate and in the morning gives me only the "standard", not detailed, logs about my sleep.
I also noticed that sometimes when I wake up and I am a little drowsy, that should happen when you are in deep sleep, the Fitbit Ionic tells me that I was in light sleep...

I just bought the Ionic. I had been using an app on my phone called Pillow that gives great insight into sleep at all levels and seems quite accurate. I expected that having a device on my wrist plus monitoring heart rate would give me much better insight and yet it does not. I get one big block of “asleep.” I could do that myself by looking at my alarm. Very disappointed. Recommendation?

Has anyone tried performing a restart by pressing the left and lower right buttons? This usually helps to sort out a lot of bugs.

I was having an issue with the first hour or two of sleep not being recorded and performed a restart and it fixed my issue.
Thanks!

Every night my Ionic is exactly one hour late recording my sleep. I have tried the reset idea with no luck. Firmware is up to date.
This is looking like a common problem with all sleep recording FitBits. Can FitBit please give a definitive answer to this issue?

Similar issue with the Fitbit Versa 2. There are a ton of complaints about this same issue with the Versa 2. I just got my versa as a gift last month. It recorded my sleep perfectly for about the first 10 days. Then it just stopped. Or it would record an hour in the early morning. The issue is still treated as a user problem. Extremely disappointing.
