Save your money. The Fitbit Ionic looks pretty, has some functionality, but the software issues are ridiculous.
I like to sync up at least once a day, especially after a workout and it still takes about 5 to 10 minutes just to get all the info to the phone....if I'm lucky. Again, this is after one workout. I suppose the other option is to have all day sync and keep my phones location and bluetooth on, but then there goes the battery for both.
If you have a firmware update, might need to take a day off from work because that is an hour long process at a minimum because the "WIFI" function is pretty much non-existent. Even connected to my home network it says its out of range, so then you have to update via bluetooth and again just an a ridiculous process.
Not worth the cost.

Since you posted your opinion I post mine: my Ionic works perfectly, all notifications are immediate and I don't have any problem of syncing. Battery lasts between 5 to 6 days including at least 2-3 hours of GPS tracked running session and all day sync. No problem with OS updated that usually lasts around 10 mins, the first setup doesn't take more than 30 mins including all applications.
Best smartwatch I ever owned.
(my personal opinion)

@UnhappyWis Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for your feedback and experience regarding Ionic.
What kind/type of mobile device are you using? I'd recommend following these syncing troubleshooting steps if they are taking too long.
Also, check these other steps if your watch is not functioning correctly with Wi-Fi.
@Giampi71 Thank you very much for sharing your positive experience on this thread!
Keep me posted!

Unfortunately I've always loved my fit bit but at the moment I am having issues of Wi-Fi failing to connect or even recognise, won't sync with computer or phone and generally slow, doesn't keep time and poor. At this stage Fitbit are losing me as no-one seems to be able to assist. Perhaps you can assist with rectification of a problem that commenced two weeks ago after 7 months of perfect useage.

@karashelle Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for reporting that you are also experiencing a similar situation with Ionic.
Is your watch syncing everyday? Have you already tried these Wi-Fi troubleshooting steps?
Also the restart process could help; if you haven't done so already. If none of these work, you could try a factory reset:
Just note this will erase all music, apps, and clock faces you currently have.

@karashelle Thanks for your reply and your inquiry about factory reset.
Factory reset will not erase your historical data. It will just erase all music, apps, and clock faces you currently have, which you can download later again.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

Got the Ionic on 04Apr2018. Being new to the Fitbit Environment it took me 2 days to get the device setup and working and paired to my Windows 10 , Dell Inspiron Laptop. Around 12th May the Fitbit Update would not complete and the sync stopped. I gave up on syncing and was using just the Ionic tracker till the tracker started showing the wrong time starting from 20th July 2018. To get the update/sync working had to do the following
a) Update Windows 10 to Build 1803. Long process as I had to keep downloading Dell supplied drivers and incrementally updating Windows. Chicken/Egg type situation here
b) Downloaded Wifi Analyzer (from Microsoft Store) to determine the exact WiFi protocol , Frequency and Enc type to make sure they match the Fitbit Ionic Spec
c) Connect the Laptop directly to the WiFi Router during the Update process
d) Factory Reset the Ionic Tracker
e) Setup the tracker again using the Windows Fitbit App
f) During Setup, Ensure that the Blue tooth pairing does not fail. BT is essential to transmit the WEP required WiFi password from the Fitbit App to the Ionic tracker (I am guessing here as Fitbit manual does not mention this) Bluetooth low energy is not good enough to transmit the OS2.0 Update file to the tracker on my system. WiFi needs to work
g) When the Update fails retry the process..
h) After several tries managed to update the tracker to the latest version of the OS2.0 on 27th July 2018Now everything works MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better. Thanks for the help from the Fitbit community
