Ionic and app step mismatch

Did a long hike on Saturday. I showed 77854 steps on my Ionic.

When i look at the app data for that day it shows 58323 steps.

 

How can this be explained? I have a picture of my Ionic showing the actual steps...

@olesensa It's nice to see you on the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply. 

Thanks for letting me know that you noticed a different step data on your Ionic and app. 

I would like you to double check that there are no activities logged that might be deleting the data that your Ionic synced. Did you sync on Saturday or until Sunday?

If there are no extra activities logged, please attach the picture of your Ionic showing Saturday's step count.

I did not sync until Sunday but did not log any other activities.
