Ionic band issues

Is no one else having issues with the band that comes with the ionic.  I like the device, I hate the band.  It comes with large band attached, and that is what I used day one.  Day 2, switched to small band which is what I should have.  The band has detached from the face 7 time in 4 waking hours and once while wearing to bed.  Finally had to use one side of large band and one of small to keep the small part from detaching.  Plus, have very sore finger from having to jam the end piece in multiple times.  Who thought this was a good band design?  There is no way the two interlocking pieces of the band will ever come apart, but they will sure detach from the face.

So far I am really happy with the Ionic and have had no further band
issues. I bought another for a freind (birthday) and helped her with
changing out the band. She hasnt had any issues.

Good luck!

I did from day one has a large fan which I I didn't realize was the large band I have a very small wrist but I wore it and it came off when I was in the restroom this is like 2 weeks or a little more into I'm having it I got it on December 29th I didn't wear it right away but you can't Monday Morning Quarterback something until you already happened and been trying to get Fitbit to help me because when it fell off I was in the restroom of the YMCA and it fell on tile which it Gabe's scratches to my face of my watch which wasn't even close to 30 days old and nobody will do anything about it to help me has contact me back and forth but they will not listen the only thing they said was they would give me 25% off and I couldn't even afford to buying brand new one for almost $300 when I hadn't even had this for a month when all I wanted was to get the watch face repair or a new one sent to me but they would even try to even talk about it they just kept saying it's not under warranty if that's not under warranty because of their watch band issues and believe me I seen this in a lot more places and I sent this them they really don't seem to care and it's it attached me very much because I got this from my sick parents and I'm disabled and I couldn't even by this myself and I've had another Fitbit and I really like this one but you know it's already messed up and it's brand new

Using an aftermarket band that I borrowed from a friend seemed to work for me, the large and small wouldn't not latch into place like described.

Any update? Is the replacement better? I am having the same problem.

They said it wasn't covered under warranty and it's and they basically put the blame on me even though I told them over and over again that it was the band that was already in the box that was a put together not me putting it together so it was an issue that's been talked about I've seen it probably 50-plus times and different forums and the only thing they want to do is give me 25% off to get another one which I just got this one it's barely it's not even a month-and-a-half old now and I got it as a gift and I can't afford $300 I'm just able and it's ridiculous that they would do this with that kind of price tag all I wanted was the face either fix if somebody could fix it or replaced and they wouldn't even do that that's why I'm mad I usually don't get angry I'm not one to get angry very often and I'm just very very very angry that they have no idea and I told him exactly how it happened word for word and they didn't care

It’s saying your tweets are protected / private. It has to be public for me, or Fitbit, to see it.

I picked up an aftermarket band from amazon.  There are dozens of styles.  For myself I was interested in something breathable and quickly adjustable while I’m biking, so I settled on a magnetic band.  So far it’s worked out better than the OEM band.  Linked below

So if somebody has a problem with the Fitbit issue and you guys don't take care of it you send them Tweeds or text them or email them and tell them that you saw what they wrote that's not a good way to make things better

Oh I'm so sorry I was sending this to fit bit because they said that they can see this or something like that not too long ago and it kind of upset me because if they would have just listened to me about my band issue that caused a crack or scratch or whatever it is that they won't fix within the warranty within 30 days even it's just ridiculous so I'm sorry I meant to send that or was supposed to be going to that email to you sorry again

Well when people buy it and have no knowledge of it and that one's already put together with the large and I didn't know that it was the large how am I supposed to know that it's going to come off so that's not really my fault it doesn't say oh by the way are band

You need to push the band in really hard until you feel and hear a click. I thought mine was defective too but once I really jammed it in there, I have had no problems! Even in the ocean, never even slipped!

s pop up on their own so that's what I was trying to say so that's not really cool and Fitbit won't do a thing if you look a lot of people have said the same exact thing and Fitbit doesn't care

Well I didn't I had that problem but mine fell and fell on tile floor and made a crack in the screen  fter less than two weeks of having it and Fitbit would not help me at all even though they kept asking me questions for about a week and asking me to take pictures and then they said they could not help me it was not covered it was out of there coverage time which it hasn't even been 30 days and the place where I bought it that I needed to talk to fit bit so I don't know what they would fix because that was their problem not mine I didn't put it together it was the one that was already put together I didn't realize that was the large band until after that but that doesn't make any difference they make problems with their bands and I've seen it all over the place and people are talking about the same thing in different communities on Facebook and everything else and fit bit

I had similar issue of band not latching and locking. I had to return the unit. The replacement unit came with band properly attached. I haven't had any issue yet on the replaced watch.

doesn't seem to care

Guys you didn't notice before hand so after hearing about it then you understand but when you don't know and it falls off and you've had it for 2 weeks right after it came out how would you know that the fans are going to come off the ionic??

Sorry but I don't know why anybody doesn't understand that the one that I put on was the one that was already together from the box it was a large band that I've realized this later it was already together so I don't need information now about how to put it together I'm talking about their faulty bands coming apart I didn't take them on and off for any of that they were already on the watch part the watch tracker parts and they came off one came off my wrist so it fell off my wrist and then cracked that's what I was talking about I was not talking about how to do it how to put the things on I didn't put them on they were already put on that one when I got it the small bands were still in their separated so see that's what I was trying to get up with Fitbit was it was already together and how am I going to know that I didn't know any problems with the bands before that and for $300 Fitbit should have known and shouldn't have any problems with their watches and now I've had to buy a bunch of extra stuff just just so I can cover up that because they wont do anything about it 30 days 30 30 something days after that when it should be if it's not considered a part of the warranty because that's really something that they had a product problem then and they won't fix it then I don't know what they would fix that's something that they're responsible for and I didn't I didn't break it I didn't do anything with the watch I didn't put it together I didn't do anything so the fact that they have problems with the band and it was already on there they were both already on there all I did was put on my wrist so am I at fault they are and they won't do anything about it regardless of it being under the 30 days or 45 days they didn't care

Hi i got mine today. The 1 strap is not working. It fell off 4 times in a 1 hour bootcamp class. Not happy.

Best Answer
Did you switch the large strap with the small one?  Push it in and while doing so, depress the button with a fingernail.  Then push really hard and let go of the button. You will actually hear a click.  That is how you know it is in correctly.   After the first time for whatever the reason, it is easier.  And the after market bands are easier to install.   I had the same problem until I figured it out and then never had the problem again.   And I switch my bands all of the time and wear it 24/7.
