Hello, all. My Ionic is draining battery very fast. I set a timer for 30 minutes and recorded the percentage that my Ionic was at before and after those 30 minutes were up, I checked the battery level. It had drained 5%. I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but if you do the math, 100/5 = 20, or 20 x 30 minutes. That would equal 10 hours, which is too much power consumption for a device that had the screen off for 30 minutes. It is also using 20-30% battery when I sleep, which is 6-7 hours. This results in me charging it more than once a day... with a battery life shorter than the Apple Watch. Someone help. I have only had this device for about 10 months. The thing is I only have the stock apps installed.....

What should I do the battery goes from 70% to 30% in 5 minutes.
I have to change it again?
If I return it to Fitbit for replacement.
I am worried they will send me refurbish one.

Just last week, my Ionic showed a startup screen even though I didn't do anything for it to show up. I thought that it was some kind of update. The startup took a long time, but it finally showed the regular screen. That is when the rapid discharge begain. I was getting less than a day from a full charge. I started with just a number of restarts to try to correct the issue. That progessed to my doing a factory reset, removing all of the apps that I could and uninstalling/reinstalling the app on my Android phone. I have gone from 68% at 7 this evening and am now at 45% just 3 hours later. I like so many others used to get about 5 or 6 days even with apps. I too would like an explanation.

Reading back in the posts it shows that Fitbit has been aware of the Ionics battery all of a sudden not able to hold a charge. This is with no changes made to the ionic by the user.
What is Fitbit doing to prevent this?? Mine randomly stopped holding a charge at 14 months. Fitbit does not support or stand behind their product after 12 months.
Is it okay to Fitbit to have all of these Ionics out there just being thrown away after a year when they crap out? This is not the way a business acts that hopes for loyal customers and shows that they don't care about the environment.
What changes is Fitbit making to prevent these issues?

I'm experiencing the same issues, though not as dramatic as others. My ionic is just over a year old and I barely get 2 days without using any tracking features. Overnight battery loss is 25-30%.
OS version 27.33.1.30
Was factory reset and updated a week ago.
I get call and WhatsApp notifications only, less than 20 per day total.
I've reverted to stock watch face and reset several times while fully charged.
Only app installed is Hue, which I use once a day.
Always connected is on; all day sync is off.
Looking at the wall of similar threads around here and the thoughts-and-prayers responses from Fitbit reps, I'm rapidly losing faith in the company and its products.
It's incredible to think how much Fitbit has revolutionised and democratized the fitness tracking market, not to mention the community they've drawn around them. But it only takes one experience of wasted money and time for us to turn our backs on that.
Philosophy aside, please Fitbit, can you help get our devices lasting the way they should?

It is more than obvious that Fitbit doesn't have a clue what causes battery draining issues.
From my perspective their products suffer very seriously from quality control issue that are systematic and showing how immature they are as an Consumer hardware vendor.
I had Versa and Ionic with different set of issues ...and had enough of Fitbit.

Mine has been doing this since a recent firmware update. I used to charge it once a week or even two. Now its every other day.

Yeah. I had been going between charges 4-6 days depending on when I would catch it. Between 10%-20% just depending on the notification and remembering to charge it.
Yet in the last two months every day I have to charge it for it to be dead at the end if my 12 hour work shift... and that's at idle not doing anything different than I used to... well aside from the 4-6 day charges i was working out 2hours a day with HR monitoring. Now I dont have time and its draining faster. I've turned off Bluetooth sync all day and have just done scheduled syncs per day. I have been using fit bit devices since they began so long ago
Since they are making products to be replaced every year I dont want to get another one.
I hope google either fixes the problem. Yet I have 0 faith.

I updated my Fitbit Ionic early January and since then I have had a lot of issues. Most of the issues was fixed but my battery still drains quick. Before turning my watch off, I had 82%. When I turned it on I had 62%. Before the update I only had to charge it once a week.

I (sadly) have had the same experience that it sounds like many here have. Last week my Ionic was dead when I woke up, which had never happened before. I charged it up, but it wouldn't update my steps or activity throughout the day. Since then, it won't hold a charge to last through the day, but at least the tracking parts are working again.
I have tried rebooting and factory resetting the watch, and reinstalling the app on my phone multiple times. Something in there got the sensors responding again, but nothing has helped the battery life. Sounds like my only recourse is to try talking with customer service (been waiting for a chat person for almost a half hour now... giving up on that).
I've thoroughly loved my Ionic and built a custom watch face for it, but if the battery is going to spontaneously die like this and the only option is to buy and entirely new unit, I'm out. Hope there is a better option, I used to get 4-5 days easy between charges.

Hi .. I have now been through 2 Ionics with battery issues on both. They are now un-usable. I have now moved to a Apple Watch Series 5 and really love it. If you like to walk, cycle and work out this is so much better than the Ionic. I wear it in the shower and pool and works well .. Very Happy !

I have 2 Fitbit Ionic with battery faults. Both watches have gone dead and do not turn on. Previously both lasted between two and six days before requiring charging. Then the battery seems to die and the watches stop working. They do not seem to want to discharge and the screen doesn’t turn on.

I went with this brand called Verry Fit Pro after I'd had endless troubles with Fitbit and the... after warranty battery drain issues. The Very Fit syncs with Google Fit as almost a primary account so it even counts towards my Pokémon Go Steps... and it says it had a battery life of 4-5 days... yet im getting a week and a half out of it... and have been using for two months. Fo Fitbit is "250 For our name we will give you less." Kind of brand... and itll get worse since it has been bought out by Google and doesn't even have Google Fit to Fitbit support.
