Hello, all. My Ionic is draining battery very fast. I set a timer for 30 minutes and recorded the percentage that my Ionic was at before and after those 30 minutes were up, I checked the battery level. It had drained 5%. I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but if you do the math, 100/5 = 20, or 20 x 30 minutes. That would equal 10 hours, which is too much power consumption for a device that had the screen off for 30 minutes. It is also using 20-30% battery when I sleep, which is 6-7 hours. This results in me charging it more than once a day... with a battery life shorter than the Apple Watch. Someone help. I have only had this device for about 10 months. The thing is I only have the stock apps installed.....

Hi @supersmart01234,
Sorry to hear that. First, I would want to know if the drain is coming from the watch itself, or from chatting with the app. Try uninstalling the app from your phone, and then do another 30-minute check on battery level. Let us know what you find.
Best AnswerIt's coming from the watch itself..... it drains more when Bluetooth is on.
Best AnswerI have a similar issue where the battery just started draining extremely quickly. For the frist several months, no issues and got 4-5 days of use between charged. Recently, it discharged all the way to 0% for the first time and since then, won't hold a charge/battery drains very fast. I don't have any apps beyond the apps shipped with the watch.
Just reset to factory settings this morning. When started, battery was @ 100%, by end of process was @ ~70%, within 5 hrs of starting process was down to 45%.
Within the last hour the battery dropped from 45% to 30%. And dead within 8 hrs.
Only have the apps that are come with the watch. Connecting to same iphone 6s for last 6 months.

@Doogie99362Fitbit replaced my second Ionic because it was having the same very sudden discharges at about 4 days.. I documented the issue and kept emailing Fitbit and after a couple of weeks I was advised a replacement was on its way.
On the replacement Ionic I'm getting about 6.5 days and I recharge at about 12-15% remaining, on the PC USB port. That's 24/7 and the occasional workout, all notifications are working and alarms. HR is set to ON and screen display is manual. Tips and All Day sync are set to OFF
The battery usage fluctuates on average between 0.45% and 0.56%/hour..discharge. Much the same as my other Ionics which was replaced because the GPS never connected after 3 months.
Great service, but you need to document to support your claim...

Thanks for the tips but, the challenge is that all the tips are shutting down features that I've been using since I got the watch and I was getting 4-5 days on a charge. This battery life suddenly went horrible on me within the last week. Don't know if there was a firmware update or what but I didn't have any issues with battery life until about 1 week ago.
This morning the brightness suddenly went to dim only...even though on Auto. Battery life seemed to be ok though. I played soccer for 1 hr with the GPS on this morning and only dropped from 100% to about 75%. But, the screen just went blank on me...off to REI to return/exchange tomorrow.
Best AnswerSimilar issue.
This weekend I experienced a problem due to a change of time zones. The device would not revert to the previous time zone, after synchronizing with my mobile. In an effort to mitigate this problem, I performed a factory reset. I subsequently setup the device with no issues. Now, the battery will only last four hours with a 25% per hour reduction in battery life.
I reset it again. Same result.
I shut down and restarted the device three times. Same result.
I uninstalled the application from my phone. Factory reset the ionic. Reinstalled the app and reset everything. Same result.
I have no third party apps. No GPS activity. No music. Just a brand new factory reset.
After five great months, I fear my relationship with my ionic is coming to an end. This device is too expensive to be bricked by a factory reset.

Help! Fitbit ionic was “dead” this morning when I woke up. It has NEVER done that. I keep my watch charged. I am not happy about this. Please correct this by sending me another (improves) ionic or send me a refund.
Thanks.

I have my ionic as father day gift. Since last Sunday I changed it two times but today it shows 70% went to 5% in three hours.
Now I put it to charge will see what will happen tomorrow.
I think Fitbit needs to improve the battery to get the trust of community.
I have the same issue, but after two years. Been a great watch, but I guess when the battery goes, it goes fast. Too bad, it is an expensive watch .... too die so quickly
