Hi can anyone tell me if they have issues with there ionic battery draining really quickly ? This seems to have just started happening over the last couple of weeks. I've been in contact with fitbit and they say there's nothing they can do other than offer me a 35% discount on a new one. Thanks Bev

I've found there are a number of settings that can drastically impact your battery life. For me the biggest impacts were - The Sp02 watch face, that KILLED my battery life. No thanks, switched back to another face. Also, I've found that data intensive watch faces in general use more battery. Right now I have a very basic face and it works great.
Second, if you've set your phone up to control your music, that bluetooth connection KILLS your battery life. I was stoked to find out that I could control my music with my Ionic, so I set up the connection, and it actually works really well. But my battery went from losing 2% or so per hour to 15%+ per hour. That's a HUGE difference. Once I realized what was draining my battery I had to turn that functionality off and reboot the Ionic, then battery life went back to normal.
My recommendation is to go through your settings top to bottom and consider how each one impacts your battery life. Then make adjustments based on what you are willing to tolerate. I may end up using that music control feature in the future, but I will expect it to kill the battery in a few hours and I'll be okay with that.
These watches have such small batteries that even small adjustments to the current draw significantly impact the overall battery life, so everything must be considered.

I think fitbit is taking lessons from Apple regarding battery life and forced replacement of product! Not happy!

Concur.
Apple Watch is a complete waste if only 18 hours battery life, (any smart watch is for that matter). Fitbit was KILLING it by providing a 5+ day watch. Allowing consistent sleep and exercise tracking.
and now the silent treatment? I blame google…who now owns Fitbit,
don’t believe they don’t know exactly what is going on with their device and firmware and app. Nothing is done off hand or without many levels of review and testing, this is no small company we’re slave to now.
shameful.

For a couple of months the battery has gone down very quickly. Before, with the same settings it lasted almost a week, now it lasts two days at most.

hi, i too am having this issue although it is a little more of a drastic drop off as a little over a week ago it was normal and using 30 - 40 % with some gps tracked exercise whereas now it lost 50% on a 15minute run (with gps) and having just charged it to 100% it lost 30% in about 30 minutes while doing nothing. i have contacted customer support who were of limited help, but has anyone else noticed a drop off in performance like this? i have also tried the suggestions on here such as rebooting it (not the rest and wipe) and logging out of the app and back in, and both my app and ionic have the latest firmware. It is frustrating as a couple of weeks ago it was all working perfectly...

Liliya thanks for the response but do you have any information as to what actually causes this as it has reduced my pretty expensive watch to a very expensive bracelet? My fitbit surge however is still going strong with the only design flaw being the connections between the straps and the body.
