Ionic battery life

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So I charge my ionic last night stayed up late so I could have it track my sleep. The battery dropped 25% over night and it's dropped another 25% I am not using gps on it or wifi any suggestions. Side note I took it off as soon as it hit 100% should it be left on longer. The battery does not last for 4 days but 1 1/2 if I'm lucky

I took mine off charge at 15:00 (been plugged in for 3 hours), ran 7km with GPS, did the ab work out on the watch - it's now 23:00 and it's on 89%.

For 18 hours of use (no exercise, music, or gps) I'm using about 8-10% consistently. I will say that when syncing almost 200 songs my battery went from 100 to 15 in only 3hrs.....

What phone do you have? I know there have been some issues in the past with some Samsung Galaxies and prior Fitbits.  Also check for the Always Connected Setting and make sure it is turned off.  This is under the Ionic settings in the app.

A warm welcome to the Community @MikeyJG, @SunsetRunner, @MFLitchfield! I would like you to confirm that each of you have fully charged his Ionic. After this, please monitor how long the battery last.

Fitbit Ionic battery can last 4+ days, because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary. You can learn more tips in how to improve your Fitbit device's battery life, by checking this article.

Thanks for your input @SunsetRunner!

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have had my ionic since Monday night and I charged it fully before setting it up.

I have gone to the gym 2 days and used the exercises, but no GPS or wifi on.

I have not used the Pandora music, but I do have an account and station.

I have a SG7 and have the app set to sync all day and my battery is currently at 38%

I am not sure if there is a % where you should charge it, but I would expect it to need to be charged tomorrow night.

I charged my ionic to 100% on Sunday at 5 p.m. 4.2 days later, after 2 hour-long runs with gps and an hour exercise session at the gym, it went to 10%. Have you tried turning off all-day sync and manually turning on the watch instead of it being automatic?

You want your battery to last. Never leave it on charge when its fully charged.

Also your better off charging when your battery is 50%+ as its much harder on the batteries life expendancy if charging from under 50% letting it drain. In 2 days mine has just gone to 57% and will charge it.

Also how otften you look at the time and watch always synced makes a big differince.

Even though they cliam 4 days dont let the battery run to long as this effects the life expency of the battery.

My i synced most of the day so receiving emails, 40  mins this week often looking at time and 57% in 2 days. I had managed 4 but sync on.

@SilviaFitbit - According to the article linked above, it says to make sure you fully charge the battery each time you begin charging the device.

I've been charging my Ionic while getting ready in the mornings, but the time never allows a full charge.

What are the complications of not fully charging each time?

As I understand it Lithium Ion batteries are apparently best not recharged fully. Startvthe charge at about 30 % and stop it before it reaches 100%. But that isnt terribly practical for me, so I do what I can!

I just charge it when it needs charging, usually over night whilst I wear my Blaze to bed. I've done this with all of my Fitbit's and never had an issue. My Blaze still manages around 4-5 days on a single charge, I've had it well over a year now. I wouldn't worry about it, the chances are you will probably have a replacement device before the battery becomes an issue.

Charge whenever you need.

Turn off always connected

Turn off all day sync.

Oh and of you aren't using the watch for a while turn it off (on the watch -> apps -> settings -> About -> Shutdown -> Yes.)

Just a question, how often does everyone sync? This can affect your battery life as well.

See my previous post above. I only sync when using the app (2-3 times a day) , this means battery life is excellent. Also notifications come through quickly and are just fine.

I leave all day sync turned on, but yes turning it off will help you save battery.

I have All Day Synch turned off; I charged last night and now, 14 hours later, I'm still sitting at 94% of battery life.

All day sync on, around 10hrs off charger and 97% remaining. Doesn't seem like all day sync makes much difference.

Swipe the clock face screen once to the right (exposing the screen to the left); the battery percentage will be in the upper left quadrant.
