Ionic bricked after firmware update

I updated my Ionic a few days ago. Yesterday, it started going crazy and said I had 16 million steps. I restarted the Ionic today and it won't start back up. The 3 button factory reset also fails. I have an open case with customer support, but wanted to warn others about the firmware update.
