Have people with onboard GPS (ionic) had any luck with this being accurate?
I pre-ordered a sense, however I'm a bit concerned about the GPS issues I've been having on my versa (1st gen). It has not been tracking remotely accurately. The distance and the actual map of where I went is ALWAYS wrong, even if connected GPS seems to be working the entire time. Very frustrating as I'm trying to improve my running time, tracking accurately is pretty important for that.
I know the sense will have onboard GPS like the ionic, however I dont want to bother spending over $300 on a new watch if this function does not work correctly, and would rather go with a different brand. Hoping this will not be the case with the onboard!

Hi @Laliza, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post, I'm happy to know that you pre-ordered our new Fitbit Sense. As an Ionic user, I usually use the built-in GPS feature of my watch when I'm hiking, this is really important for me because I do not have to carry on my phone all the time, nor use my phone's battery to capture such information. The GPS information tracked with my Ionic has always been accurate even when I was walking on a dense forest, however, I recommend you to check: Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device? to check some of the factors that can compromise GPS connectivity.
Keep in mind that the connected-GPS feature of your Versa works in a different way because your Fitbit will capture GPS information using your phone's chip, therefore, if you're using a non-compatible device or another Bluetooth device at the same time, you can experience some connection difficulties.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

I am also having this issue. I've had my Ionic for over 2 years now and have rarely had accurate GPS results while running or walking with it. It's not terrible, but on average a 10km run will be out by 200-500m. I've done a couple runs with my iPhone and Ionic and the difference is pretty obvious (iPhone super accurate, Ionic all over the place). Looking at a map of my run, it would appear I'm highly intoxicated and unable to stay on the path let alone run in a straight line.
I've tried restarting it before a run, syncing it before a run, this morning I went so far as to do a factory reset before a run and still have the same issues.
I'm at the point now where I'm done trying to get this working and shift to another brand.
Consider this my final plea for help.
