Ionic compatibility with OnePlus 6

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've been using the OnePlus 6 for quite a while now and never had problem syncing my Ionic to it. Until yesterday when my device got updated to Android Pie. I started seeing the "Restart Bluetooth" messages that used to appear on my OnePlus 2 and no matter what I do, the watch just doesn't connect to the device. I've tried a hard reset of the watch, uninstalled the app and then installed again but nothing helps. Is Fitbit ever going to include OnePlus devices to its compatible devices list? This is so frustrating .

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @sharmashivamm! Thanks for already troubleshooting this syncing issue, nice way to go!

I totally understand your point. Note that the devices on this list have been confirmed as fully compatible with all features of Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app. While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible, the Fitbit app may still work with your device.

Our team routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. Be sure to verify that your phone meets the minimum operating system requirements. Note that the majority of Android phones running version 4.4 or higher will work with our products.

If your phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, I'd recommend giving the syncing troubleshoot a try to see if you can successfully connect your tracker.

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

Let me know if there's anything else I may assist you with.

I'm having simlars issues with my Blaze. I can sync my boyfriend's Blaze on my phone just fine. I called customer support who ran me through all the troubleshooting I already did on my own. The suggestion in the end was that I get a new phone... Sorry, that's not a solution to me.

Fitbit, can you please put in a ticket to your software engineers to include One Plus decices?? The One Plus 1 is a compatible decice but this company has come out with some excellent models since then. It's time for an upgrade from Fitbit.

Exactly the same problems here, and I have tried that link aswell.

I'm having the same exact problem. And went a step further and factory reset my Ionic in addition to all of the other recommended solutions. After which... I couldn't get it to pair or sync with any other devices be it windows computer or a samsung galaxy s2 tablet...  Somehow managed to get the basic features working again but still can't get it to interface with my devices at all. Paid a nice chunk of change for a smart device that is now just like any other non-smart watch...Man Mad

Hello @Coryjwarner@aumooo and @stullz, welcome to the Community forums, it's good to see you around.

I'm sorry to see that you've been experiencing trouble to sync with your mobile devices. The steps recommended have been useful to other users, but currently we can't guarantee that all features and syncing will work properly if the phone is not listed here as a compatible device.

If a device isn’t listed it doesn’t mean it won’t work with a Fitbit tracker or smartwatch. We routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit App, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. A majority of Android phones running version 4.4 or higher will work with our products, however we cannot guarantee optimal performance on devices for which we have not tested and confirmed compatibility.

@stullz, could you please confirm if you're still having trouble to sync with your computer, or you're only having difficulty to sync and user other features with your mobile device?

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply  None of fitbit's recommended solutions have worked... Directly... However ,I decided to try syncing to the s2 tablet again and managed to get things working that way and figured at least that way my stats would sync up to my account on my phone even if it wasn't 'live'  And then early this afternoon while I was at work away from the tablet I noticed the app on my phone was syncing my steps... Somehow the app had sent my device data to my phone at some point before work  And from there somehow the Bluetooth connection to my phone has been reestablished even though it had been removed from my phone's Bluetooth history. Even got text notifications back up and running. So everything somehow is working again. 🤷‍:male_sign:👍

What worked for me was unpairing my Ionic in phone's BT options, and pairing it againg with Fitbit app running in background.

OnePlus 6 OxygenOS 10.3.9, Fitbit Ionic 27.72.1.0, Fitbit App 3.40.1

Yeah with mine (Blaze), I ended up syncing to my tablet and that worked so it shows delayed on my phone. For now. Hoping since yours was fixed over night maybe mine will be soon! 🤷‍:female_sign:

I connected my Ionic to my phone's Bluetooth again, fired the Fitbit app and the sync started to work again! I'm able to receive all app notifications just like before. Hope it stays this way.

Hi

I have a Oneplus 6 and a fitbit surge which has not been able to sync at all since I updated to Android Pie. I have been able to sync my surge to my old iphone 6S but the oneplus 6 will not recognise my surge under any circumstances. I have also tried all troubleshooting options as listed by Fitbit. Hope someone can help.

Thanks

Hello @Ruairic89, welcome to the Community forums.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding syncing; I still haven't seen many reports for to the last Android update, but the same information provided here would apply for the OnePlus 6 model; for the moment this device is not listed as compatible, and it can't be guaranteed that it'll work properly.

The only steps we could suggest are the ones you mentioned to resolve syncing issues, since they have been useful to other users, but as I was mentioning, unfortunately it couldn't be guaranteed. \

I hope this helps.

A warm welcome to the Community @nuhcakoh! Your feedback is really appreciated. Fitbit is always trying to add new devices to the list. I would encourage you to try this syncing procedure but I can't confirm that your watch will fully sync as it's not listed as compatible.

I had exactly the same problem and experienced the same, rather random, solution.  I had given up trying to sync with my OnePlus6 and decided to give up, download the app and sync to my Surface Pro, following which my ionic immediately started syncing with my phone again!  My phone thinks I've not yet upgraded to OS3.0 (which I have) but otherwise it seems to be working fine.

Mods - several people have asked whether Fitbit are ever going to add OnePlus devices to the compatible list: instead of telling us it's not compatible, which we know, hence the question, just give us an answer, even if the answer is that you don't know.  Wilfully ignoring questions / giving politican's answers on a troubleshooting forum is, at best, irritating and, at worst, incompetent.

It's great to see you around @linzena! Thanks for your comments, Fitbit is always trying to improve its customer service and provide you with the best solutions for you. I'm glad to hear that your Ionic is normally syncing with your Surface Pro.

I can't provide you with any specific information about when new devices will be added to the list. However, the best recommendation will be to keep an eye on this article where new devices are added when they have been fully tested by Fitbit.

Welcome to the Community @Rishi_zircon. I've checked the list of compatible devices and I have great news OnePlus 6 and OnePlus One are supported devices now. You can try setting up or syncing, if your watch isn't linked to your account yet.

Catch your later!
