It's nice to see you around the forums @bergr06, hope you're doing great! As you mentioned, the Huawei Mater 10 Pro is not compatible with the Fitbit app. This means that our Android team has not yet tested it for compatibility and added it to the list what means that we don't have a estimated date on when it will be added. If the device supports BLE (AKA Bluetooth 4.0), I recommend giving the setup flow a try to see if you can successfully connect your tracker.
If setup does not work, I recommend setting up and syncing via a device listed as supported or using a Windows 10/Mac computer with integrated Bluetooth 4.0 running the Fitbit Software. Our Android team is always working to test and add more Android devices to the supported devices list, so keep an eye open for updates!
My sister owns a Huawei which is not yet a supported device, but she has tried the following (which I think won't hurt if you try that as well):
1. Your phone must not be set to "visibile for other devices"
2. Your phone must not be "searching for other devices"
If either of these two things are active, the Fitbit cannot connect.
In other words, you have to set it to invisble, and you have to click the stop button if it is searching for devices. So, bluetooth should be on, but not doing anything at all in the bluethooth menu. Then force quit the Fitbit app and it'll sync. At least it has done with my sister's phone for over a month or so.
I will also make sure to update you in this thread when the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is added to the supported devices list.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

Hi,
The Connecticut works. But i often have to restart watch, and the notifications only work sometimes. Even though I've given the fitbit all all rights, and turned off battery checks.
Also would like to know ETA

All this " this phone is not compatible or that phone isn't" is BS.They are android phones most running same OS etc ,with android if it works on one it should work on another .
I'm pretty sure my phone will not be on the list ,but it works ( after some sync and music transfer issues) .My phone isn't even available in the UK I had to import it from the states and the phone works fine with it .
My main complaints apart from awfull music transfer procedure are tap to wake not working and lack of British banks for fit bit pay

Hi,
It's nice that it works for you. But for me, not so much. I've had Samsung S8, Huawei P9 Plus, Huawei P10 (yes i change often). But never had issues with notifications/syncing before Mate 10 PRO. If this is because of the software in the phone, Android version etc i don't know.
But there are many differenceses between phone, that's why they do app the testing 🙂

I also encounter the same problem when sync with Mate 10 Pro. Its very popular Android phone, how come an so expensive cant compatiable with it!!!! I cannot receive any notification from whatsapp wechat and even in coming call at all!

yes, same here. my Ionic can sync and send notifications to my Galaxy S8 fine, but with the Mate 10 Pro it's mostly no in terms of notifications or even syncing in the app (it did work briefly for half a day for some reason and then suddenly stopped).
i'm not sure if this is on Huawei or Fitbit but it's quite annoying.
fitbit, Huawei ist he number three phonemaker in the world and quite frankly will be number two soon. please focus on compatibility with Huawei. it's more important than compatibility with like Moto or Sony or HTC phones... those brands are dying.

Hi @bergr06
I have the same issue, it's a lottery!
As a work-around until Fitbit release a new version which will *hopefully* be compatible with EMUI 8 (Android 8), I have to disconnect and reconnect my device daily for it to sync at least once or twice.
Hope this helps!

Det er jo litt trist at man kjøper ett produkt som ikke fungerer som det skal før det blir til salgs i butikkene .. synes at systemene burde fungere før dem selges som andre klokker gjør ..

Hi, my other half has a Huawei P10 lite and has had problems getting her Garmin tracker to connect. Someone on the Garmin forums appears to be from huawei and says the problem seems to be the way that the phones do a ble scan and they are working on a fix to be included with their next updates. In the meantime the only way to get the tracker to connect is to disable location services on your phone.

In Huawei Search search bluetooth scanning.
or go under security and privacy, location services, scan settings. turn off bluetooth scanning.
Turn off bluetooth scanning under location service. Then it starts working much better.

So I got mine working perfectly now.
I re-synced my fitbit Ionic to my cellphone yesterday, and connected it to my WiFi.
I could update then firmware, which is now at 27.32.4.19.
Once it had completed the update (takes a while, give it time), I unpaired the fitbit ionic completely (unpair in my phone devices and from the FitBit app) and then re-paired it.
I made sure that the bluetooth searching was off under location settings, and the big thing that I realised needed to happen for it to work 100%, it that the FitBit app needs to ALWAYS be open.
So I opened the list of active apps (bottom left square), and locked the FitBit app.
So even if I close all active applications, the FitBit app will always be open.
Now it has been about 24 hours and it has been working perfectly again, getting all notifications and also syncing all the time.

For those using Huawei Mate 10 Pro and having issue with the App running properly in the background such as syncing issues and etc, here is what you need to do:
1) Go to settings>Battery>Launch
2) Disable "Manage Automatically" on Fitbit
3) - Auto-Lunch (on)
- Secondary Launch (on)
- Run in background (on)
I saw this in an article while doing research on other apps that having the same issue. From my understanding the AI will sometimes "manage" the application accordingly, saving power and all. Hopes this help.
