I just got my adidas ionic a month ago and twice this week during a workout it has exited my exercise and erased my workout. The first occasion it shut off my watch entirely and I had to hard reset it. The second occasion was tonight at the gym, in the space of one hour it exited my exercises mid workout;the first on a treadmill and the second on the workout selections. I had the blaze for two years and it died and got the ionic ecstatic for the swim feature and am sorely disappointed.

Try doing a re-start.  Press the left button and lower right button at the same time and hold for 15-20 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears.  You might do this 2 or three times.  This may resolve the problem.

@Scalliwag Have you tried a Factory reset (settings app and About)?

Welcome on board @Scalliwag, it's nice to have a new member around! Thanks for already trying the restart and the factory reset recommended by @John917 and @NellyGSmiley Very Happy

While reading your post I was wondering what's the activity you're performing? Is it Run, Walk? Even the Workout shortcut? Since when you started noticing that your Ionic stops/crashing during your workout?

If your Ionic is dropping during use of the "Exercise App", please check your Exercise App settings (Sprocket in the top left corner) and make sure your "Auto-Pause" is turned off.  Also, make sure your Ionic is not too tight (should be able to slide 1 finger between the bottom of the band and your arm, IMO) as bending the wrist with a tight band can accidentally press the left button, ending your exercise prematurally.

Keep us posted!

@Scalliwag is your auto-lap cue set to .5 miles? If so, you're likely encountering an issue many are where the Exercise app crashes at the first auto-cue point.

What I have found that overcomes this crash is to interact with the Exercise app before the first cue point by swiping the face once or twice.

It's annoying, but it allows the full run to be captured without a crash.

Do you have auto-cues enabled for laps? If so, is the interval 500m? There seems to be an issue where the Exercise app will crash when the first auto-cue distance is reached. Restarting the run after this crash will allow the run to complete with no further crashes.

I've found this can be overcome by interacting with the Exercise app info prior to reaching the first cue distance (swipe the data points on the screen)

No I do not have auto cues turned on, the distance is not exactly the same
each time, it can be 200 m one day then 600 the next.
