Ionic display won't turn on

Yesterday my ionic screen went blank, it was fully charged. I checked out a few suggested solutions like turning off by pressing the 3 buttons and holding etc. But I cannot get the screen to show anything. I’ve tried pressing various combination of buttons.
I can see the green light flicker on the back and I know there is approx 60% charge. Any suggestions for getting it working again ?

Hi Fitbit

My ionic screen is on but the touchscreen will not work. I have tried to reboot it continuously but still to no avail. Yesterday when this started to occur the screen constantly flickered so I charged it overnight hoping it would rectify the problem and the screen stopped flickering but the touchscreen still didn’t work. Is there anything else to try to get it working again

Please help

thanks

Andrew

Welcome aboard @Andrewdparrott.

Thanks for the details that were shared with me and for trying some steps before posting over here. Because the fact that your Ionic is still not working as the way it was designed, I recommend you to try the below steps to factory reset your device:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Keep in mind that the factory reset procedure erases stored data, including the stats that were not synced to your Fitbit account. Also, applications installed, music downloaded, alarms, etc.

Let me know if the issue persists.

Charging fully takes up to 2 hours. While the watch charges, you can tap the screen or press any button to check the battery level.

If after the 2 hours you don't get anything on the display, check if the contacts on your tracker or charging cable are not dirty.

Hi Fitbit

The watch reset and the first time I tried the touchscreen just worked on two occasions and now doesn’t respond to any touch at all.

I rebooted the second time and still the touchscreen doesn’t work

is there anything else that can be done or is the watch stuffed?

please advise and thank you

Regards

Andrew

I’m sure it wasn’t the charge,as I could see on the app on my phone that it was charged. Would green light flicker on back if not charged ?
I’m going to let charge run out, then attempt to recharge. Thanks for the advice😀

Hi fitbit

i have tried everything asked of me and it seems like this is a similar issue to others that have posted on the forum. The battery went dead very quickly and now the watch screen is permanently black. The watch is now useless and I need another. I am not impressed that it only lasted 3 years and completely stopped working within two days of a fault. I would assume that this happening to others with the same watch is a manufacturing fault and should be warranted in some way. Can you please advise what support Fitbit will provide for this situation. I am looking forward to hearing from you

Thank you and kind regards

Andrew
