Ionic does not shut down and step counter continues

A few days ago I  had a message to do an update for my Ionic. Since the update my ionic does not shut off and the step counter continues to count when it is not in motion.  The watch use to last 5 days on one charge now since it does not shut off it last about 6 hours. Tried a hard factory restart 3 times no change. I hope they fix the update issue soon.  Let me know if anything else that I can try to fix the issues.
