My ionic got really really hot while charging and now it's dead. Called Fitbit and they are apparently aware of the problem, but won't send me a new one until they receive mine in return. I expected better from a $325 purchase that's less than 3 months old...and so much for great customer service. .
Ionic users...be careful charging your device.

That is probably because they want to get a few of the affected units back to try and find the cause.
Is it a single batch of one specific part in the ionic or....
In any case has the option of dropping of the tracker and picking up the old one at the same time. The customer needs to be home, but doesn't even need to package the unit. I'm not sure if this service is a soluble outside of the USA, or why Fitbit doesn't choose this path. But...

Just got off the phone with Fitbit and they still haven't received my Ionic, which I returned using a shipping label they provided. <one week later and it's still in transit> Once received they need 5-8 days to process it before shipping me a replacement.
No need to rush i guess...too busy building defective gadgets to worry about their customers.
