My Ionic was given to my for my retirement back in Febr 2018. I had some initial issues with it intermittently not syncing but finally got that fixed. Then about 4 weeks ago, it would not charge to 100%. I did a reset several times, turned it off several times and finally it would charge to 100%. Then the day that Google bought fitbit, I had put it on the charger and about an hour later I took it off and nothing, no screen, no light, nothing. Tried the reset many times, but nothing. Android phone can't discover it. In the dark, there is the faintest of light from the screen that comes on when pushing the home button and turns off after a few seconds. So, did fitbit send out a signal for their users products to self destruct on the date of the sale, haha? The watch is dead after 1 1/2 years and I am out $250. Time to move on to another brand. Oh yeah, my $29 Casio digital watch is on its second battery and still working just fine after 15 years.

Fitbit is terrible! I wish I had gotten out when I was out $250. Three watches later, I have experienced the same issues with all of them. Once my replacement dies out then it most definitely is time to move on to a more reliable product.

My ionic was working fine and it had 58% battery life and I decided to charge it for a bit while I was on the computer. 30 minutes later i pulled it off the charger and nothing, no screen and no sensor lights. It wouldn't reset. I tried different charging ports and 3 different charging cables and still got nothing, DEAD! This appears to be a common problem with the ionic. Many testimonials of people's 2nd and even 3rd replacement watches also going bad within a short time. I am done with fitbit. I am moving on to different brand.

I have had it on the charger several times for hours at a time. I have tried 3 different charging cords and 3 different charging sources. The contacts are clean. Tried reset mode and hard reset mode several times. Still nothing. No screen, no lights on the back. It is dead.

Hi i'm also facing similar issues now. I had syncing issues last month. I tried to reset ionic but it still became worse. Time started lagging after every restart. So i stopped using for a while. Now when im trying to restart after charging for more than 4 hours still its not responding. I tried to troubleshoot but everything went in vain. Its looking dead.

This is apparently a common issue as mine died 1 year and 2 months after my purchase!
Moving onto another brand as there is a quality issue here it seems.

My Ionic also died a few months ago. It was my third dead high end fitbit in a row. I had just given up. I will probably buy a Garmin now as I am a serious runner / triathlete and do want the GPS and HR. I would like to take one more stab at resurrecting this thing as it is a complete waste otherwise. It is dead. None of the recommended actions so far have gotten any reaction out of my cold dead Ionic. One last try … what can I do to try and get it back to life.

The watch is dead and I am not wasting anymore time trying to resurrect it. I tossed it into the trash and will be purchasing another brand. This case is closed!
