Hi,
My Ionic doesn't show an accurate heart rate at all when in exercise mode, but seems to be accurate when doing exercise but not putting it into exercise mode. I use my Ionic for my runs and uphill walks where my heart rate will average around 160 bpm and my ionic is showing that its around 80 the whole exercise when in reality my heart rate is a lot higher.
This issue seems to have started since the latest firmware update. I've reset the Ionic multiple times and have gone through all the procedures I could find, but none seem to help. This has become very frustrating and I want a solution to this asap.
Thanks

Yeah that sounds flaky. Call Tech Support at the number linked below. Normally they are pretty good at replacing defective devices.

@Gilad I've been experiencing such problem since I got Ionic. I've been posting here comparisons of Ionic HR vs accurate chest strap. Lots of people report that Ionic shows too high HR but my case is like yours - it's always way too low compared to the real one. I ended up always using a chest strap for activities and paired it with another watch for even better accuracy. It's too much hassle to always make sure that Fitbit is not too tight, not too lose, not too low, not too high, not too wet, not too dry... I just want to focus on exercising, not maintaining my watch ( and it was no help either, tried many tricks to get it right ).

Here we are in 2019, Fitbit still doesn't offer the superior Spotify, it's Pandora Premium features are limited at best, and you can't even transfer music from a Mac to a Fitbit Ionic or Versa. This is honestly beyond pathetic. You'll continue to lose us customers, at least with Samsung and the like we are getting more options! #leavefitbit

Hey guys, I hope you are doing fine. I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix the heart rate issue you are all experiencing.
@Gilad, upon checking with our support team I was told that you followed our friend's recommendation and contacted them. I know they will be glad to help you out and provide you a solution.
@SunsetRunner, if you are having problems with your heart rate information, I recommend taking a look at this post and follow the instructions provide there.
@neptunec, I know that it would be great to have Spotify for Ionic. Please take a look at the Spotify for Ionic/Versa request, vote for it and leave your comment. Just remember that, we are moderating this thread for users who are having heart rate information inaccuracies.
If you are experiencing other issues or have a feature suggestion or improvement, I encourage you to find a similar thread, check out the feature suggestion board or start a new thread.
Catch you later.

@AlejandraFitbit I know it is not intentional but it's insulting to give me the same advice countless times as if I was too dumb to try it. For your information - no, it doesn't work and never worked for me. I posted a number of posts showing results of HR readings for various activities, compared with chest strap, trying to wear it differently, even going to extremes like making it more stationary using sweatband worn on my wrist. Nothing works. It's pity that nobody removes moderator's post for insulting users.

Thanks for the information @SunsetRunner.
Since the instructions provided didn't work, I've gone ahead and escalated your case to our support team, for them to take a deeper look at this. Please keep an eye on your inbox for further instructions.
Keep me posted.

Hi my Ionic used to work pretty fine (in the first 3 months) however I notice now that the heartbeat is way off sometimes.
Measuring 120 bpm whilst it should be 160 bpm
This occurs mainly when there is a lot of sweating on a stationary workout like the rowing machine, the eliptical, or running band.
I use my Suunto Ambit as a reference as it has proven to be very accurate the past few years.
I see that there are a lot of threads and complaints about this so is there a fix in the making? Or is the Fitbit not actually a sports/exercise watch but more a 300 dollar gadget useless wearable.

@reinoutholland Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Ionic is not providing accurate heart rate information. Please take a look at this post and make sure that your tracker is being worn that way. If so, please restart your Ionic as described in this help article. After this, test your tracker for the next 48 hours and see if the accuracy gets better.
I merged your post to this thread since the issue is similar and helps us to have the Community more organized.
Keep me posted on the outcome!
