Ionic: heart rate too high

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I had bought 2 ionic, one for my self , and one for my wife.

I used to run several KMs now and then, and I noticed that  my heart rate sometimes above 200 bpm and average is 190+, that is too high for me.

Untill several days ago, I weared 2 ionic, left hand one, right hand one, and I found, my watch shows max hr is 200, and average is 193; at the same time, my wife's watch, which on my right hand, shows the max is 176, and average is 164, this makes sense.

Is there a calibration routine for ionic?

thanks.

Hi @hqqiu I'm glad to see you again participating in our Community and help you out with your concern.

Let me share with you that heart rate reading varies depending on several factors like movement, temperature, humidity, stress level, physical body position, caffeine intake, medication, etc. If you haven't already done so, please check our help article: How do I track my heart rate with my Fitbit device?

Though we've found that PurePulse provides better overall heart rate tracking than cardio machines or chest straps since it tracks your heart rate day and night, wrist placement during certain vigorous exercise is important. Review the information on optimal wear closely and make sure you follow the recommendations.

Let me know if you have any additional questions, keep me posted.

I have an Ionic and the heart rate is far too high. It seems to have happened since the last Ionic firmware update. It also registers very high rates overnight when not being worn! Any advice please as accurate heart rate measurement is very important to me?
