Ionic is not receiving notifications from iPhone

I was getting notifications from my iPhone on my Ionic. Had trouble syncing, fixed that. Now I’m not getting notifications. They’re on in my Fitbit and in the app. Really thinking I should’ve gotten an Apple Watch instead. Would be nice to answer texts from my Fitbit.

Welcome on board @mis4501, it's nice to see you around the forums! Please note that with the new Fitbit OS update 2.1, Notifications are now removed from the Versa/Ionic once you open the conversation in your phone. This is expected behavior and not an issue.

Also, from the clock screen, hold the back button and then swipe to the quick settings screen. Make sure Notifications is set to On.

Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa receive notifications while your phone is in Do Not Disturb, Quiet hours, or Driving mode, but your watch won’t vibrate or wake the screen. To view notifications, swipe down from the clock screen.

If you're still not getting notifications, if your phone is currently running iOS 11 or later, please go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and make sure the following is enabled:

PS: The “Show in History” was wrong with mine. I had it turned off and that's why I wasn't getting my text notifications.

If this doesn't work, my best recommendation would be resetting Notifications through the Fitbit app to also reset the connection between the tracker and the phone.

To reset Notifications:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone, then check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Open the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Ionic > Notifications.
  4. Enable Notifications and when you receive a pop up asking you to pair your tracker and your phone tap on OK.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else! Smiley Wink

I tried the steps in MarreFitBit's post, and my Ionic is still not receiving notifications.  I'm missing phone calls and texts...

any ideas? It was working after the recent Fitbit update, but stopped shortly thereafter.

I have an iPhone Xs running iOS 12.1.2

It’s the same for me

I had the same problem twice. What worked both times for me was to hold down the back button until it vibrates and swipe left to the left and turn the notification on.

Hope that helps

I didn't even realize this setting existed. I went into the settings on the watch and turned all notifications off, restarted and then turned them back on, but that didn't work. Did the same on the app and in my iOS settings. None of that worked. I tried your suggestion and I now get notifications again! Thank you!!!

Mine still doesn't work.  It's been over 6 months since I've actually had a "live" notification. I can swipe and see some old stuff in there (days ago), but it doesn't pop up when a call or text comes in. I'm used to it now, and it's more like my old Timex Ironman with some fancier features.  For the money, though, I'm a bit disappointed.  And I've tried the reset many times, to no avail.  Oh well.
