Ionic is not waterproof

So I went swimming with my Ionic and after getting out of the water, the battery showed as 0% despite it being pretty much fully charged earlier in the day.  It is now as dead as a dodo; it won't charge and won't let me reset it!   This is not the first time I have swum with with it so very annoyed and disappointed.  Question is will FitBit do the right thing and replace it for me???

So not sure whether it's a waterproofing issue or otherwise.  I have noticed that droplets of water are appearing on the surface of the watch so suspect the former.

So it appears there's a small crack by the heart monitor on the back of the device.  Has anyone else experienced this?
