Ionic left button stopped working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Anyone have any issues with the Fitbit Ionic left mouse button no longer working? My interface was messing up all over the place so I performed a hard reset, and the button stopped working altogether. I tried updating the firmware in case that was the cause, but the button is still dead.

Not sure if it's related but battery life on this thing has been notoriously poor, to the point where I had to turn off bluetooth connections if I wanted it to last much more than a day, but that seems pretty unrelated.

Then Do a Restart

Also See this thread for charging best practices. If you are not charging it correctly you could be damaging the battery

Thanks but none of those suggestions work.

1. "Try restarting" - the left button doesn't work anymore. The only way I know to do a hard reset is with the left button.

2. "Try resetting the watch face'. Did that earlier, just tried it again, doesn't work as far as I can tell (it did the fitbit logo screen you always get when resetting watch faces, but I don't know if it's a new watch face  cause I'm trapped in the "welcome to the new update" menu where it's teaching me the new interface - but I can't get out because... the left button won't work. 😞

3. "Try recharging it better". I assure you the battery has been dopey since I started using it, which involved charging it to completion once and then watching the battery drain itself within a day. This is a less important issue than the left button not working though. It's right up there with the strap breaking (I bought a new strap to fix this, sadly the other two problems don't seem to have easier issues).

I've tried. It sent me here! :'(

Is there any way for non-US customers to contact a human being at Fitbit Support without getting a twitter account and tweeting at them? I'm not joking when I say that, this message group, and "Searching the forums" are the three solutions for non-US customers.

Not knowing where you are I do not not if this link will work for you. But if you click on Lets Talk Get Support there is a form to fill out and it emails them.

I got the Ionic for Xmas and after 3 months it started to jam... now its just not working at all so I just went on the online chat... within 5 mins they sent me an email so I could get a new one. They are sending out a new one for me. So I would advise doing the online chat with them... They just require a short video of you trying to press the button etc.. quick and easy and I think I was on the chat for less than 8mins. Well worth it.

They are quick to replace the watch true, but after you get your replacement there is no support.  Ideally meaning there is not a resolution for the issue.  If you're really bound to the watch buy a new one and burn through it like it's a prepaid phone, when the phone breaks you get a new one that will break eventually.  Wash, rinse, repeat.
