Ionic malfunctioning after swim

I went swimming today with my Fitbit ionic. It worked fine in the pool which is only about 4 feet deep. Once I got out I dried it and put it back in. Throughout the day it has been bouncing between the clock face and the wallet app without me even using it. Every time it does this it vibrates and the screen turns on. I’ve tried resetting it multiple times but it keeps happening

Hopefully it's still in warranty. Otherwise your on your own with a measly 15-25% discount offered on a new purchase. Read through other threads. The Ionic IS NOT waterproof. Don't swim or shower with one.

 

I'm sounding like a stuck record. But Fitbit can't and won't admit anything. Just don't go near the water with an Ionic or Versa.

 

Yes, it has a swimming function in the menu. Ignore that!

 

Hopefully an eventual replacement will be certified to the WR100 rating.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for trying some troubleshooting steps before to posting over here. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if there are water droplets or condensation inside your Ionic that can confirm that it suffered water damage? Since the restart process didn't fix the issue, please try changing your device's clock face and let me know if the issue persists.

The Fitbit is completely dry as far as I can tell. The charging port is clean and so are the spots where the band pops in.

Have the same problem only have have both my daughters died within 2 weeks of each other after swimming did the same thing the touch screen quit and know they dont turn on and all fitbit can offer me is 25% off and I cant use it on sale items which they are all on sale now its a joke they say they are waterproof but they are not they lie and don't back there product up for except 25 % off of a 249 dollar watch
