I’ve seen other posts identical to this but I haven’t seen any effective fixes.
My ionic has been failing to sync. Now it won’t sync, won’t maintain the correct time or any consistent time, can’t remember any settings/erases settings and locks itself during usage.
These are all the offered “fixes” online, and what I’ve tried:
-Uninstalled, reinstalled the app twice
-Updated phone’s software
-Shutdown phone several times
-Shut down the ionic so many times
-Removed the device and added a “new” one after a factory reset
-Updated the app every time one is available
-Two factory resets
-Tested phone’s capabilities with other devices finding no problems
-Charged the device to 100% multiple times
-Turned Bluetooth on and off on my phone
-Turned on and off wifi connections
-Reached out to support
-Prayed
My phone has no troubles with other devices (iPhone X). My wifi is great. Right now I have a 300 USD watch that can’t even show me the correct time. I’ve gotten really comfortable with it as a part of my life but I can’t troubleshoot it everyday and have the same problems everyday.
I spent that money for one years’ usage I guess. Feel like a fool. Something is clearly wrong with the watch if so many people are having these same exact issues with multiple types of phones.

It's great to see you around @MCJ9619. Thanks for the detailed information you've shared about what you're experiencing with your Ionic.
I appreciate the troubleshooting you've tried. I'm glad to hear that you've liked your Ionic and I totally understand that you don't want to keep troubleshooting it everyday.
In this case, I've shared your post with our Support team and they've mentioned you already have a case with them. Please continue the communication through email.
Let me know how it goes.

Yes, I’ve been communicating by email. If others are having the same problems then I hope the post helps. Fitbit is sending a replacement. For now I check on my ionic regularly in case its status changes and I turn it off in between. It hasn’t made any progress but I figure it doesn’t hurt to keep trying.
If others are having issues then I recommend turning off the lock and pay feature as I started to set it up, it said it failed but lock feature did not and now that it won’t sync again I have to enter the code constantly.

Yes, a replacement is the only "fix" when things come to this point. I have my replacement offer for my second failed Ionic - either a replacement for the Ionic, or a 50% discount on another Fitbit. I am pondering it, whether to get another Ionic (since two have failed) or move on to another Fitbit.
The only problems I've had with past Fitbits were with failing straps. On the Surge, it meant replacing the whole tracker, since some of the electronics were built into the strap. On the Charge 2, it was just a change of the strap. And on one of my Ionics, the strap failed too, but it was a strap replacement.
But I've also had two complete failures of the Ionic itself, so I feel it may just be a lemon device, in general. Many many many people have had similar issues with the Ionic. So, although I am happy with Fitbit in general, I am frustrated beyond belief with this particular Ionic model.
