I bought my Ionic last year early December and used to get 5 days per charge and last 3 weeks is getting bad and rapidly, now only last me 2 days tops. Has anyone is experiencing this? How did you fix it?

Thx

Hi @sfbinms! Please receive a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community! Heart

My apologies for the delay. Thanks for the details that you shared in your post about the battery issue with your Fitbit Ionic. I'll be glad to give you a hand with this. You can check some tips to improve the battery life of your Ionic.

Also try to clean the contacts of your Ionic regularly. These contacts can become obstructed by microscopic dirt or debris that prevents them from making a good connection to the charger. Use a toothpick or toothbrush to clean the charging contacts; do not scrape them with anything metal because this may damage the plating and result in corrosion.

Please restart your Ionic, if you haven't do so. How are you changing it? We recommend plugging your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or other low-energy device. If necessary, you can use a UL-certified USB wall charger. Don't use a USB hub or battery pack to charge, and only use the charging cable that came with your Fitbit device. Please take a look of these instructions on how to charge your Fitbit too.

I'll be around if you need anything else! Cat Happy

Hi!

I first did a soft reset on my Fitbit. It didn’t help. I then did a full reset. Also didn’t help.
Fitbit support replied to my request for help after that. I received email with instructions to follow. I did. Didn’t resolve the problem.
I ended receiving a new one in the mail. So far it’s been holding its charge.

Good luck!

I 1st contacted FITBIT to get their help making changes to my use of my
watch. When their instructions did not help they were HAPPY to send me a
new watch or a 75% refund, I believe. I chose a new watch. I hope this
helps. It's important to go thru the motions with them first.

I've run into the exact same issue. I called customer service and they were of no help. Furthermore, they weren't willing to replace the device as it fell outside the 1 year warranty. My advice would be to avoid buying Fitbit devices altogether. They clearly know their devices are going to fail and don't stand behind their products. This was a complete, 100% failed product and I will not be buying another Fitbit again.

Hi! I received a Fitbit Ionic for my birthday about a year ago and i love it. But have had problems for awhile with the bluetooth on my ionic not staying connected with my phone. Also as of the past month, I've had problems with my ionic not holding a charge. I've tried hard factory resetting it, I've tried cleaning the charging area on the inside of my ionic as well. And the charge won't even hold 12 hours without it dying to 15 percent. I used to be able to wear it for at least 3 days before having to charge it. I turned a lot of my notifications off and dimmed the brightness. But still, why won't the charge hold when I've only had it a year? Help anyone?

I have the same issue with Ybaldini14.

My Fitbit Ionic has been working fine since mid Dec 17 till about 1 plus week ago where it suddenly could not hold it's charge (less a couple of days where the heart rate monitor did not work and miraculously just started working suddenly). During this period, there wasn't any changes made in the watch settings or new applications installed.

Tried most of the methods suggested here but to no avail. Did a factory reset of the watch yesterday and wore it to sleep at 100%, woke up 7 hours later to 50% battery and a further 4 hours later was at 15%.

I really like this watch and would appreciate if someone could help me on this.

Also having this same problem.  Have cleaned contacts on phone and charging cable.  Charged using original cable while connected to laptop.  Battery still lasts about 12-18 hours.

So I just got off the phone with Gus from customer service, who was very friendly and helpful. Although I did not get the answer I was looking for, he was still professional and courteous. There is a 1 year warranty on these devices and I unfortunately was beyond the warranty. He was however able to see my battery history for my Fitbit Ionic and saw that I wasn't lying that it was not holding it's charge. I could not get a battery replacement like others have been able to, but he did sent me an email where I could get a discount on a new one (25%). Which I appreciated and went and upgraded and bought a Versa 2 which I wouldn't have gotten on my own so thankful for that. Great customer service experience and glad I can still continue using these great Fitbit products.
