As an owner of 3 Fitbit devices (flex 2, charge 3, now ionic), & the Ionic is the WORST smartwatch I have ever had (for syncing) ... From day 1 it has never sync'd as it should, every single day, for over 1 year & 6 months (it's getting tiring now its bs) ... I know it holds at least 1 weeks worth of data, so not worried about that, but when it stretches to 2 weeks+, that's getting really annoying!! - I have to always force a Sync by rebooting the phone & rebooting the watch & then it takes AGES to for it to sync properly anyway!! WHY.?
Bluetooth is Bluetooth regardless of the phone, there is a standard Fitbit should be using ... They say it's not compatible with my Huawei Mate 10 Pro.? Say WHAT.? - It shouldn't matter what phone you have, if it has Bluetooth, then it should be all good ... At this rate, I'll be looking for another Smartwatch that syncs properly to do the job without having to worry about it.
Anyone know how to sync the Fitbit Ionic 1st go.!?
(I have "all day sync" enabled, & "always connected") What else can I do.?

Unfortunately with Android it does matter what phone.
There is no set standard for hardware and in some aspects even the OS. Fitbit writes there often interface drivers ans they need to be customized for the phones hardware
Fitbit saying that they do not support the phone, really they ste saying that the phone has not or they have not fully tested and modified the software yet.
I suggest surfing the boards for your phone model and see if anyone came up with a workaround. Some phones sync fine but will not set up a tracker, in this case it is recommended to borrow a phone to set it up.
