Ionic not syncing, stuck on 4 digit code

I've read several other posts as my ionic was not synching to my phone, and had even caused the clock time to become off. I followed previous steps of disconnecting the ionic from my phones Bluetooth and removing the device to reinstall it. I continue to get stuck on the screen where it asks to enter a number which I receive on my ionic watch. After entering the number it just clocks and goes no where. I have also tried holding the left and bottom right buttons doing a restart, as well as going into the settings on the watch and doing a shut down and continue to get stuck after entering the number which was sent to my watch.

This is what i did to get it finally sync after a couple hours of trying different steps.

(1) Unpaired all other trackers. and remove all trackers from the bluetooth paired list.
(2) Turned off my phone bluetooth
(3) Force Stop Fitbit App.
(4) Restart phone and Reset Ionic by left and low right  button.
(5) Open Fitbit app and set up as new device.
(6) Skip wifi Set up and connect via bluetooth

Hopefully this helps you guys!

Driving me mad. Every time they do a softwar e  update it stops syncing. Mine says “found” then connecting to tracker then goes round and round for hours . Beginning to think this product is rubbish

This is the exact same issue I am having!  Did you get a response with any solutions?

Yes finally managed to sort it.

Hold all three buttons for 12 seconds then let go of the bottom right one for a further 8 seconds... this seems to give it a total reboot.

Doesn't seem to be an exact science but this seemed to make it work.

Took a while and its working now. Good Luck !

I am having similar issues as those described above. I ended up having to force a reset using the 12 sec and 8 sec method. I also had to turn off wifi even though its has worked in my house before. I am now downloading the update over Bluetooth, it has been 2 hrs 35 minutes so far and I am just under halfway. I realize BT would be slower but common its going to be 5 hours plus. I feel like I am trying to watch a Youtube highres video over dial-up.

Well I waited 6 hrs and 23 minutes and it failed to complete the update over BT. Fun!

I did that. My phone vibrated, then shut down completely. Now, all I get is a black screen!

It is Junk, Ive had 2 of them the 1rst one had a software issue. The second one one of the charger buttons on the back of it broke so it won't charge. I had it 9 months when that happened. The replacement Ionics from Fitbit have a 45 day warranty

This is my 3rd Ionic. I have had numerous issues over time. I really like the watch and thought that maybe the next one would be the charm. I've contacted customer service and in the past they were friendly and helpful, but after my third Ionic I am ready to give up. They don't seem to last long before they stop working or responding. I wanted to be a loyal fitbit user, but after this ordeal I am ready to quit and tell everyone I know at the gym and those that I interact with not to waste their money. Spend a little more and get a dependable exercise tracker. I love the way the Ionic looks and feels, when it works, but the problem is reliability and dependability. FitBit you just can't keep up. Unless thay can fix the software issues and updates SO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY like I did... three times always trying to keep the faith. I got screwed and you will too.

I had almost the same problem, the first ionic was a firmware update. No BPM and no sleep tracking. The second one one of the charge dots on the back broke off, the first one does do steps and floors steps and floors but that’s it. I’m went to the Apple Watch
