So, since they pushed out the firmware update I’ve been having issues with my Iconic, going as far as doing a full reset!  got everything to work ok, but the sleep tracking is just not working! anyone else getting bad/erratic readings, having your devise change times during the day?

Hi Silvia,

Did I mention that I have been sleep tracking for a year and a half already with no issue?  If there was a problem with my position or the way I was wearing the Ionic, I would have had some problems in the last 400+ days.  There have been no issues until I did the update around 16 Dec 2019.  I haven't changed anything else.  I charge the Ionic every day while I'm in the shower.  It is always between 70 and 90 percent.  I usually sleep between 5 1/2 to 8 hours - never less, rarely more.

The update seemed to go OK.  The day I did the update there was no sleep tracking.  I powered off and re-started.  No sleep tracking that night or the next.  I did a full factory reset.  No sleep tracking that night either.

Welcome to the Community @scottheimanATL. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.

There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Could you let me know if you're not receiving sleep stages or sleep in general?

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

I also am not receiving detailed sleep info since the last update.  None of the above scenarios apply.

My ionic is giving me sleep data from 2018 but not recent one. It was working fine until I updated it.

My Ionic is having this problem and only doing simplified sleep since Tuesday October 8th.  I wear it properly, slept for more than three hours, and when I go to get details it shows me the generic message. What is the fix for this please?

well, there is definitely an issue with the firmware update, but, having said that I did a hard reset and got my detailed sleep summary back, and increased my accuracy (which went down by som 20%)!

So I took your suggestion and performed a factory reset and it didn’t change anything. Thank you though

I have been using the sleep tracking with my Ionic for a year and a half with no issues.  I did the update a few days ago and now sleep tracking no longer works.  I reset, then factory reset and still nothing.  What now?

I think that is what happened to me once the update happened.....I reset and did all the suggestions, but after a few days it quit working again.  I just got the versa 2 for my birthday and love it, but do miss my ionic.  I’ve had no problems so far......
