Ionic pauses mid run

Hello, on my last two runs my ionic has paused mid run without me touching it. I was wondering if this was because it notified me of my 10000 steps? It hasn't done it before this week, I haven't changed any settings. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

It happened to me that the activity tracking stopped but never paused on its own. However, I managed to pause it without even knowing it. The buttons can pause it and sometimes it may be incredibly easy to press them if Ionic is too low and you just bend the wrist. For me, I did that twice during push-ups. Wearing any gloves reaching your wrist may also cause unintentional button press. I'm not saying the problem of pausing tracking on its own doesn't exist because... well it wouldn't be so surprising 🙂 But it's worth to make sure that the buttons on the right are not being accidentally pressed. First time when it happened I didn't even realize it as a few moments later I unpaused activity very same way - pressing accidentally button again 🙂

I own the Blaze and have same problem, it is the touch screen.  I reported this to FitBit over a year ago and they don't seem to want to fix it.  When you wear long sleeves, gloves or something to may come in contact with the touch screen, if that material is damp from sweat or rain, the touch screen reads it as a touch and the material will pause the work out as you move around.  All FitBit has to do is take the touch pause off the screen so you have to use the buttons and it would be fixed, but they don't want to do that.

I have the same issue on my Versa.  Playing hockey last evening, when i finished, I found that I only had logged about 30 minutes of the game. Very Frustrating!  Come on, FitBit, add an option to disable on-screen pause. (as well, persist workout display settings)

For those struggling with this issue, and have access to a 3d printer, I have designed a bumper style cover for the watch to prevent accidental presses. It is a quick 10 min print. I went through many iterations to come to this design, and it fits very snug and is not easy to accidentally knock off.
