Ionic recording too many steps

As of yesterday my ionic is recording too many steps, I was lying by the pool on holiday (not wearing my ionic) and it was constantly recording steps...22000! I have tried shutting it down numerous times, after a few hours I switch it back on and it carries on!  I’ve charged it fully to see if that works, no! Switched it off overnight and lo and behold it’s doing exactly the same today. I am currently sat down travelling and it’s showing my heart rate going up and up and up, and I’m still getting ridiculous amounts of steps.  Help!

Try restarting it several times. If that doesnt stop it you will need to try a factory reset (settings app on the Ionic and scroll down to About). If that doesnt fix it Support is you next option (link in my signature)

Thanks, I’m giving the factory reset a go now.  It was switching itself on and off so something definitely wrong with it 😬

I have now done the factory reset....and it’s still recording steps when I’m not wearing it!!!  Customer services it is then!
